Bonnieux is in the beautiful Luberon area of Provence and is surrounded by other Medieval hill-top villages, such as Gordes, Menerbes, Oppede and Goult. It has the most spectacular views over the surrounding countryside, looking out over the vast plains of grape, fruit and olive farms. There's no shortage of good restaurants, so you can enjoy anything from a casual cafe lunch to a fancy restaurant in the evening. If you are self catering, it's fun to visit the local farmers markets and wineries to buy fresh, local produce. It's a perfect location for a relaxing holiday, for families or adults. Bonnieux is steeped in residences dating back to the 15th and 16th century and has a church dating back even further to the 12th century. A visit to the local museum is interesting where you will enjoy the experience of seeing local bread being made.
