If you are looking for a escape, look no further. 100% private, La Cabaña is the perfect spot for a peaceful and quiet getaway. Situated on the edge of the National Park, La Cabaña has the best of all worlds - seclusion and convenience. Beaches, restaurants and towns all within an easy and short drive away.
All this is coupled with very generous accommodation and comfort, and furnished in a warm African style.
Being fully south facing, you can sun tan au naturel in the private courtyard, while the outdoor lounge and dining area is shaded. There is a large table for outside dining, a From there sliding doors open onto a seating area with a large comfortable 3-seater leather sofa, perfect for relaxing with a book . The wood burning stove adds warmth, should you feel cool on a winter's evening. This leads through to a lounge dining area, set up for indoor dining at one end and a quiet night in watching telly at the other.
The master bedroom is spacious with a king size bed. It has a double aspect and large glass doors leading out onto the courtyard. There are black out blinds on the windows on either side of the bed and black out curtains over the courtyard doors.
If cooking is your thing, the kitchen is the place. It is well equipped and has a large gas range cooker and granite countertops.
There are 2 bathrooms - a large wet room and a second bathroom. The private parking for the property is reached via a private drive
La Cabaña provides a wonderful base for those wishing to explore the island. The national park, and ocean beyond, are quite spectacular and the nearby village of Yaiza has a very picturesque town square and church with bars and restaurants as well as a grocery store.
There are many beaches within a 15 minute drive - Playa Blanca town has 3 golden sandy beaches, and Costa Papagayo has a number of unspoiled beaches for those who wish to explore. As regards restaurants, there are many to be found within 15 minutes of the villa - from those in Yaiza and Playa Blanca to the beautiful villages of El Golfo and Playa Quemada where the restaurants perch right on the sea's edge, and not forgetting the marinas in Playa Blanca and Puerto Calero.
If walking is your thing, one of the island's walking trails runs along the bottom of the hillside, past the villa. It is a 20 minute walk along the groomed trail into Yaiza.
The vineyards and bodegas of La Geria are just around the corner and a drive through the region offers vistas not seen in many places due to the unique way they grow the vines. Many of the bodegas offer wine tasting and the volcanic soils result in very special wines. A visit to Timanfaya and a tour around the volcanoes is also recommended. All, again 15 to 20 minutes away.
And all of this together with the bonus of reducing your carbon footprint - the property is off grid and runs off solar with batteries and a backup generator. The whole system operates seamlessly, with the generator kicking in automatically on the very rare occasions that there is insufficient solar.
A couple of items of business - We only sleep a maximum of 2 people. A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm a booking for bookings made more than 8 weeks prior to the start of the holiday. The balance is due 6 weeks before the start of the holiday. Should the booking be within 8 weeks of the start of the holiday, then payment in full is required.
The house rules - We expect guests to leave the property in a clean and tidy state with the dishes washed and any rubbish cleared. No parties or events are allowed without prior written consent.
Note: water is from an aljibi which is supplied from a tanker (very normal for rural villas on the island)
