We only have complimentary things to say about this apartment in El Penoncillo and it is difficult to add anything new to the positive reviews of others. Communication with Sue throughout was excellent and you can trust the description on the website. In any case, Sue was more than willing to answer any queries prior to booking and during our stay. Access to numerous beachside chiringuitos is within a 5 minute walk and a further 20 minute stroll gets you to the lovely promenade and bars, shops and restaurants at Torrox Costa. In the other direction a 10 minute taxi ride gets you into wonderful Nerja. The only hilly bit you will face is the 5 minute walk to the beach but it is hardly a chore. The beach is typical of the area, very clean with coarse sand and gentle waves when we were there. If you are looking for a really nice apartment close to the beach and restaurants with a great sea view, big balcony and no need for a car, you won’t go wrong staying at La Perla del Mar.

La Perla is a fantastic penthouse apartment accommodating all our needs. Sue and Trevor have provided all imaginable amenities and made it home away from home. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed sunning ourselves and BBQing on the terrace , enjoying the sea view and plenty of space for a family of 5. Ideally located to explore the area with quaint village of Frigliana in the mountains and Nerja by the beach. Fantastic communication from Sue both before our trip and during, very helpful with recommendations.
5/5 Perfect in every way Our trip to this property in Torrox was perfect in every way. The apartment was great for my family (two adults and two teenagers) with lots of room for everyone. Having a washing machine is a huge plus for an extended stay. Words do not do the view justice. With the AC Units and the fans provided everyone was cool in 35 degree weather. The complex is well kept and suited for families and older couples. The pool was immaculate. The only consideration is it’s location on top of a hill. At the bottom of that hill is a beach and about 5 good restaurants. A 5 min drive or 20 min walk away is Torrox Costa with amazing beaches and great places to eat. Nerja is another town about 15 mins by taxi away and well worth the trip. Sue and Trevor were excellent to deal with, check in and out were easy and everything was exactly as advertised. 5/5 Highly Recommend We had an amazing stay start to finish. Sue was so helpful with all the information and it really felt like a home away from home.Thee view is just amazing and it was great having restaurants and bars at the beach at the end of the road without being surrounded by concrete in the middle of town. The size of the terrace is just fabulous and we spent most of our time there. The only downside is that we were there for just a week! 6/17/2023 at 4:52 PM
5/5 Home from home Wonderful holiday in a super location. Stress free check in, all information required was available. Property enjoys a fabulous view over the nearby beach and sea from it''s substantial terrace. We spent many happy hours relaxing and enjoying the ever changing views. There was everything provided that you might need in this well equipped accommodation. We were very much at home during our 4 weeks stay and used it as a great base to explore the surrounding, wonderful, real Spain. The welcome pack we were provided with on arrival was unexpected and very generous (thank you). Our stay at the Ocean View Penthouse was wonderful. From the start of booking to end of stay we couldn’t have been happier. Sue, Trevor & Verity did everything to make our arrival problem free including arranging our transportation from Malaga Airport to the Apartment. What a lovely surprise when we opened the door to the apartment to find a large 3 bedroom place with a fully functional kitchen and a large balcony that runs the entire length of the apartment. We spent many hours relaxing on the balcony watching the beautiful Mediterranean. Additionally we received a welcome of a a bottle of wine, plus a refrigerator stocked with some essentials. The apartment was sparkling clean & having a washing machine was very convenient for us. We walked frequently to a small grocery store for some groceries & further into Torrox to Aldi’s for more. Sue offered to drive us to buy groceries which was very kind but since we are avid walkers not necessary. There are restaurants close to apartments as well as lots of restaurants about a 30 minute walk away to the Torrox Promenade. There are many choices of foods including several German Restaurants plus a German Bakery & small German Grocery store. Since we were without a car we took the local bus for a day visit to Malaga & also to Nerja. Both worthwhile visits and easily accomplished if you are without transportation & like a good walk. The apartment easily felt like home to us & we knew if we needed anything we could contact Sue & we would get what we needed. We highly recommend the apartment & would book it again should our travels back to Torrox. Thank you!!
