Kefalonia in June has been amazing, easy car hire and very quiet roads, made the journey from the airport to Villa Demeter very enjoyable. Villa Demeter has achieved first place in our years of holiday villas. The house is beautifully appointed, with everything you might possibly need. From a generous amount of coat hangers, crockery, and glasses to the smoothie maker in the modern kitchen, there was nothing wanting. The house style has been cleverly curated, reflecting the Greek style but with a Scandinavian accent meaning there is calm in every room. We loved lighting candles and everyone being able to relax in the spacious lounge. We also enjoyed brand new en-suite bathrooms, with an extra shower room downstairs. The garden room allowed our elder son and his partner that extra wee bit of privacy, they described this as their boutique hotel room. We are a family of cooks and made use of the large custom built BBQ, even the utensils for our outdoor chef were more than we would have expected. The extensive gardens and level of privacy are not reflected in the photographs online, thank goodness as this was such a surprise. We made full use of the herb garden and the pool is just perfect for 6 people. The custom made pool towels added to the level of detail that makes Villa Demeter stand out from other Villas we have stayed in. Rural, yet 5 minutes from a nearly private beach, towns villages and every amity that could be needed. We will be back, as there is little possibility of seeing Greece from any other base. We spent a wonderful week in September 2023 in this gorgeous villa, and can only give the warmest of praise for it. There were four of us staying (two couples) and we all stayed in the main house, although we saw the garden room, which looked very nice. The villa has everything that you might want for a very comfortable stay, plenty of storage in the bedrooms, comfortable mattresses on the beds, plenty of hot water for showers, extremely spacious rooms everywhere and a warm relaxed style. The kitchen was recently refitted and had everything we needed plus extras such as kitchen towel, cling film and some staples. The large fridge freezer has an extra drawer in the freezer that we nearly missed and it housed frosted beer glasses, so don''t miss out on these if you stay! The villa is close enough to the main road to walk (about 5 mins) and a taxi will happily pick you up and transport you into Scala village for 5 euros. Spithi beach is a short walk, but well worth it as it was practically deserted and we had a wonderful day there and took the parasol that is provided in the villa. Our hosts were extremely helpful when we encountered a small problem, and were on hand immediately to help resolve it. If you are wondering whether to stay, I would absolutely recommend, we loved it so much we are coming back in September 2024 :-)
We stayed at this villa for a fortnight this August and we were not disappointed. The rooms were all spacious, decorated beautifully and bedrooms were amazing with exceptional sea views. The beds were the comfiest we’ve stayed in. My 12 year old daughter loved staying in her own little garden room as it was so close to the main house she felt safe, but far away enough to give her the independence away from her brothers that she craves. The beaches were close by and having our own rental car allowed us to discover more of the island. The pool and gardens were fantastic too. We were so impressed with the facilities and the kitchen was stocked so well with every utensil you could possibly think of. We will definitely be back. Many thanks.
We had a fantastic family stay at the Villa in August 2023. The place is superb - comfortable, beautifully put together and elegantly furnished - we found that the location was exactly what we wanted. The Villa feels remote and private but is only a very short journey from the busy little town of Skala. We hired a car from the company that the Villa’s owners recommended (Simotas) and it was much cheaper and better than the online alternatives. The local beach (Spithi) is stunning and no more than a 5 minute walk away through the fields. We also explored further afield on the island (with helpful recommendations from Peter), but we really didn’t need to. We put our two teenagers in the garden cottage which was perfect for them - they had a bed each, a bathroom and WiFi, not much more they could have wanted! We stayed in the main house and our other child took the spare room there. The pool and large garden at the Villa are perfect for any family - we spent hours jumping in and out of the pool, playing frisbee in the garden and enjoying meals outside on the terrace or under the sun awning. We had a barbecue one of the nights too. The place was very clean and we had a visit from the cleaner, pool cleaner and gardener whilst we were there. The kitchen was very well stocked with practical utensils and crockery and the local information provided was complete and really helpful. We found the owners to be extremely response and helpful from initial enquiry and throughout our stay. A real 5* find. Thanks to Peter and Michele for a great place to have our first family holiday abroad in a few years!
This villa has everything you could want, it literally ticked every single box for what we were looking for. We were able to relax from the minute we walked through the door. From the huge beautiful gardens, swimming pool, outdoor shower, bbq, chill out areas, sea and countryside views from the bedroom balconies, large clean bedrooms, reliable wi-if, smart TV, amazing kitchen with everything you could need. I could go on ! Great location if you don’t want to be right in the heart of a main town but more than close enough to enjoy still. Based just 2-3 minute drive from the Main Street of Skala plus also ideal for Katelios too (5-10 mins by car). The customer care from the owners was superb, both leading up to our holiday and during. Our family loved our time here together and would definitely recommend.
Villa Demeter was the perfect accommodation for one of my favourite holidays. The villa was clean, well equipped, comfy, and beautifully decorated. The gardens were stunning and the pool was the perfect place to cool off! The island itself is beautiful, with lots to do, good food (especially the feta!). We had a great time snorkeling, swimming, sunbathing, eating and drinking - what more can you ask for!
