Location is key and this is what makes this villa extra special, together with the interiors that reflect the colors of the beach and Alentejo plains.Vila Casanova offers a wonderful secluded space for reconnection as is inserted in a unique natural environment, in a place that seems far from everything but still close to the beach and historic cities like Lisbon and Évora.
No wonder that super affluent people have chosen this extraordinarily beautiful spot which happens to sit in the middle of a 40-mile stretch of nearly untouched Atlantic Ocean beaches, and at the edge of hundreds of square miles of cork oak fields, vineyards, and rice fields. Guided horse riding tours will be a unique way to explore picturesque landscapes, providing thrilling horseback adventures through rolling hills, dense forests, and even along the breathtaking coastline.
Traditionally the houses in this region are made out of rammed earth construction methods called taipa (mud walls). It is an excellent thermal and acoustic insulator. Air conditioning is not essential but fans can be provided if necessary.
Guests will be delighted with the comfortable bedrooms complete with bright bedding, wooden ceilings, and vibrant craftwork that adorn the walls.

Um oásis para descansar e usufruir da calma
By Inês on 05-Oct-2024A decoração é acolhedora, o espaço é muito agradável e bonito, tudo muito confortável. O telheiro é a cereja no topo do bolo, passámos lá muito tempo à conversa e a cozinhar e comer. Os banhos tinham pouca pressão e era difícil controlar a temperatura em alguns deles.

We love the area, the accessibility to the towns and beaches. If we needed recommendations the owner was so helpful. A lovely stay and I would recommend this villa.

By Greg on 15-Jun-2024The House is beautiful and feels like being on a ranch. The kitchen is well equipped and we had some good barbecues in the outside area which was really nice. The pool could use some umbrellas to provide shadows to be able to enjoy the pool area more. But despite this, we were overall very happy to be there and can only recommend, especially if you’re looking to spend time with a big familygroup of friends it’s the perfect place to be.

The house is set up for hosting large groups with cooking facilities, bbqs and lots of outdoors dining space including use of a vegetable garden. Lots of choice in stunning beaches nearby ~20 mins drive. We surfed and visited several nice beach clubs just outside Melides and further south. Highly recommend this place!
The houses worked really well
By Isabel on 10-Sep-2023The houses worked really well, we rented for 10 days and were 20 at some point. The house owner baked us a cake & suggested we order fresh bread for the local bakery to be delivered each morning to the house. Everything worked well for our use and we were happy about it. Two things to notice is that on arrival we were told that the water was not drinkable and there were a few large bottles of water for us. But we were 20 for 20 days, so we’re had to buy a lot of water. At some point I decided to investigate what was in the water, and contacted the local authorities and then the owner directly and both said there was nothing wrong with the water, just some extra natural iron in it, and that it’s actually good for our health. The other thing that I want to point out is that as the main house is mainly made of wood so there is not a lot of sound privacy between rooms. That was not a problem for us however.
