The house is perfect if you want to get away, disconnect, enjoy the countryside and recharge your batteries. You immediately feel at home. If it's hot then the garden is an oasis of peace and quiet - and eating breakfast and dinner on the terrace is so relaxing. The beach is 5 minutes by car, and the little town of San Vincenzo has great restaurants, local food shops and some lovely boutiques .
If you want to explore further then there are beautiful medieval Tuscan villages in the hills. The weather during our stay was not hot most of the time - but it's still warm enough even at the end of September to eat breakfast lunch and dinner outside. The house has everything you need - and the wifi ( should you have to connect!) is excellent. All in all a beautiful home from home in a wonderful setting - and Luisa has thought of everything you need in regard to instructions and furninshings/equipment. We will be back!

We felt like we were in paradise! The house and garden are beautiful. Because the property is fenced in, our children were able to explore freely and we could relax. Everything you need is there. Also lots of helpful tips and suggestions on what to do in the area. But a day in the beautiful, large garden is also worth it! The communication with Luisa was really great! We are very satisfied and would like to give it a sixth star

The holiday home is simply fantastic! The location in the middle of nature, the view, the large, fenced garden (great for small children), the loving furnishings. Nothing is missing. The kitchen is very well equipped and there is a large chest of beach equipment such as parasols and deck chairs. The hosts are not on site, but are always easy to reach if you need something. I can only recommend the place and we hope that we will return soon. Thanks for the great experience!

Wonderful house, finely furnished and with all possible comforts! Luisa is a very responsive and caring host. The location of the house is crazy, 3 minutes from the sea but at the same time immersed in a relaxing countryside. The outdoor areas are very well cared for and so are the garden. The kitchen is equipped with all equipment. Beautiful vacation!

We enjoyed our vacation at Luisa´s house to the fullest. Calm nights, a wonderful garden, a spacious kitchen with open dining area for all-evening-cooking-dining. The area is beautiful as well - mountain biking, the sea, hiking, fantastic zero-mile vegetables and fruit. We loved it here! Luisa and her family were absolutely friendly, competent hosts. They did their best to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Thank you!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this villa in Tuscany! Even before arriving there, Luisa and Julian have been excellent at communicating with us and made sure all is taken care of before we arrived.
The villa itself is beautifully cared for and a perfect blend of traditional Tuscan charm and modern amenities. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen is well-equipped - we only did light cooking but found everything we needed.
The host was incredibly helpful with great recommendations for local activities and restaurants. We loved the location and proximity to 10+ km of free beaches, did 2 day trips to Pisa and Florence but also have absolutely loved Campilia Maritima and Suvereto which are only a 15 min drive. You feel you travel in time in those perfectly preserved and fully functioning medieval villages - amazing food too!
If I could make only one suggestion - I hope the host is making plans for a pool too!
DAY TRIPS: EXPLORING TUSCANY & BEYOND:
* Florence, Siena, San Gimignano etc: easy day trips by car
* Rome: you can be at Roma Termini station in 2 hours with the fast train from Campiglia Marittima station, which is 10 minutes from the house. Check trains here: https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html
* Elba Island: a lovely day trip by hydrofoil or ferry from the port of Piombino which is just 20 mins drive from the house. You can visit the house Napoleon lived in when he was exiled there!
* Lots of medieval, cobbled towns nearby eg: Bolgheri, Campiglia, Suvereto

Chiusagrande started life as a traditional Tuscan farmhouse and became an Aglo/Italian family home after renovations in the early 1970s and further modernisations in the early 1990s. Now the older generation of the family has moved out and the younger generation is living in the UK, it has become a much loved (but de-personalised) holiday home. It is full of character in design and furnishings and like any old, characterful building, it has some minor imperfections! Please note the property is situated in the countryside, some of which is working farmland. There is a railway line 1km away.
We tend not to rent in the winter but are happy to consider requests for longer term, off season periods, please just send us a message.
