This cosy villa is built on different levels and from most of the interior, as well as from the extensive outdoor terraces, you can enjoy stunning views of the Mediterranean, the Sierra Nevada range (with snowy peaks in winter), as well as the charming white village of Salobreña with its 12th century Moorish castle (illuminated at night). The villa is located in a quiet, dead-end street with little through traffic.
As you enter via the external stairs of this beautiful Andalusian villa, you will be struck by the impressive views and the expanse of open space. On the first floor there are two of the bedrooms, a living area with built-in benches and an area with a sink, fridge and worktop above various cupboards. Each bedroom has 1m50 x 1m90 beds, en-suite bathroom with heated towel-rails and a ceiling fan. A large terrace and the private pool (10m x 5m) are also situated on this level, with an outdoor shower and comfortable sun-loungers making it the perfect place to spend the day relaxing in the sun and enjoying the magnificent views. One area of the terrace is covered and has comfortable outdoor furniture for when you wish to cool down in the shade and have a break from the relentless Mediterranean sun.
The exterior stairs continue up to the main floor coming out onto a large terrace with stunning views. This outdoor area is furnished with a metal table and chair set making it the ideal place for long al fresco dinners or breakfast while watching the sun rise over the mountains. From here you can also reach another terrace area with built-in barbecue and two more chairs and a mosaic table, which is also accessible directly from the living room.
A few more steps lead up to the top terrace and the main entrance. This cosy outdoor area with charming sea views is also equipped with table and chairs. You will no doubt enjoy delicious meals in the open here cooked on the gas barbecue that is located nearby.
As you enter the main living area via the hall, you find a large, luminous, open space. To the right there is an open-plan kitchen with all you could possibly need to prepare delicious dinners. There are comfortable leather sofas in the middle of the room, and you can head out to the main terrace with built-in barbecue through French windows. To the left of the living room there is a large wooden table with chairs and space for eight people to dine in comfort. There is also a cosy fireplace for the short winter months when the sun sets earlier.
There are two bedrooms on the main floor, one with a 1m50 x 1m90 double bed, en-suite bathroom with heated towel rails and a bathtub. The other bedroom has two single beds 90cm x 1m80 and shared use of the guest bathroom at the entrance to the main floor. All bedrooms have hot and cold air conditioning.
Given that this villa is built on different levels with separate terraces, it offers the possibility for guests to have their own space and privacy whilst enjoying a holiday with friends or family. Unfortunately, Villa El Olivaron is not suitable for people with reduced mobility. Every area has additional ceiling fans. The Wi-Fi network is accessible throughout the villa, hot and cold air conditioning throughout and there is a TV with international channels.
Villa El Olivaron is situated in the beautiful mountainside development of Monte de los Almendros. The communal recreation area with tennis court, large pool, children’s pool, football pitch and small restaurant (in the summer months) is within walking distance.
The beach, restaurants and shops are a ten-minute drive, while Málaga, Granada and Almería airports are all easily accessible. If you manage to draw yourself away from this charming villa, there are innumerable things to do and see in the area: Sierra Nevada ski station, which also offers great hiking out of season, is 75 minutes away. You can even ski in the morning (from December to April) and enjoy the beach or your pool on the same afternoon. An 18-hole golf course is a ten-minute drive from the villa. The picturesque, mountain villages of the Alpujarras are easily reachable, as well as the beautiful, historic cities of Granada with its famed Alhambra and Málaga with its old town, cathedral and Picasso museum.
Salobreña has a sub-tropical microclimate with more than 300 sunny days a year and an average temperature above 20ºC. For those who are interested in architecture and history, this area offers the best of Andalusia. You will be impressed by the charm and beauty of this are with small, whitewashed villages set among mountainous landscapes, tropical flora, flamenco music and the unforgettable local gastronomy.
