Lovely cottage in a rural part of Spain, providing lots of sunshine and fresh air, exactly what we were after. Ron provided some lovely gestures including much needed mozzy repellant, local wine, local olive oil and eggs from his chickens, not to mention the fab veg garden that we had some delicious bits from.
Our family of four enjoyed a very special week in Ron’s cottage on his expansive almond farm. The property itself is super - perfectly sized for our unit (2 adults + 2 kids (7 and 9)). A small but well equipped kitchen and bbq gave us all we needed to create wonderful meals each day, making the most of the fruit and vegetables we could freely pick on the cottages doorstep. It was joyful to see our kids enjoy fresh tomatoes from the vine, grilled aubergine, courgette and butternut squash on the grill, or eat fresh figs, melon and watermelon. They even enjoyed cracking and eating the nuts…a first for them. Aside from this the location is superb. Quiet with a backdrop of forest and mountains, plenty of options for walking or biking. The pool is small but super-clean and cool, perfect for a dip on the baking hot afternoons between reading on the sun terrace. Ron was an incredible host. There when we needs him, but otherwise leaving us to enjoy his amazing property and land. He was so patient with our curious kids, taking time to answer endless questions and offering advice and ideas on what to do in the area. His generosity - allowing us to help ourselves to what we needed from the garden - will long be remembered by us. With Reus close by car, you’re not cut off yet the property and land certainly allows you to get away from it all when you need to. Given its rural setting, we were a little underprepared for the mosquitoes - and they made us pay. Next time we’ll double down on repellents. The only negative would be the lack of air conditioning which made sleeping through the night a hot restless affair in peak Summer despite the fans in the room. Overall we loved it though and came away with very special memories.

David Thank you for the review and constructive criticism, points noted and with sustainability in mind as well as the Organic status of the "croft" I am putting a plan together to improve the situation.
we were embarking on a 2 week road trip from the uk (wife and 2 children) and had a stay booked for a week in l’estartit, i was looking for a stay the opposite end of the scale to bustling beach holiday and rons farm seemed the ideal spot, safe to say we should of had the 2 weeks at ron’s, we were met by mel the dog who turned out to be the best friend of the children as she followed them everywhere (like a fluffy babysitter) she accompanied us on many walks and was a superb second in command to ron, ron couldn’t do enough to make us feel at home, with the addition of fresh vegetables, fruit, homemade jams and chutneys and of course the beautiful cottage and its surroundings to keep us more than happy as holidaymakers. if you are looking for a slice of the quiet life with the addition of an english speaking tour guide then this is your spot many thanks ron for making the road trip end with such comfort, we will definitely be seeing you again

Stuart I look forward to your return, I am so glad you have fond memories of your week on the croft. Regards Ron
We loved our fortnight here. The house was so well-appointed, clean and tasteful, without feeling too precious. Everything, inside and outside, was beautiful and functional, and the views were amazing. The location is extraordinary: you are less than 30 minutes from sitting in a café in Reus, yet it seems utterly rural. There are so many interesting places to explore in easy reach, too. We enjoyed our visits from Mel and Tigre, the opportunities to gather fruit and vegetables and the pool. It’s a really special place. Just remember to bring insect repellent if you are there in high summer.
We were delighted to spend our family holidays in Masies Catalanes at Ron's Cottage. The place is truly wonderful, peaceful and very beautiful. The access to fresh vegetables is a big plus, just like the swimming pool. We also appreciated the beautiful beaches of Tarragona and fancy restaurants Ron recommended to us. Ron's availability and advice was much appreciated, especially when one of our dogs got hurt. We certainly wish to come back !
This is our second time here and it just gets better. Ron is a wonderful host and we hope this won't be our last visit. The setting, the tranquility, the organic (complimentary) vegetables, the swimming pool and the facilities are all excellent. Topped off with lovely weather and day trips to Tarragona and Reus. We really had a fabulous time.
