Description

This modern villa is only 2kms from the stunning beach, La Barrosa, awarded as a Blue Flag beach. You will not be disappointed with its fine white sand and clear, clean sea.

3 Bedrooms holiday villa rental in Chiclana de la Frontera (La Barrosa)

The villa has been furnished to a high standard, sitting more to one end of the plot, therefore allowing for a large 8m x 4m swimming pool with roman steps, in the back of the property. A tiled area surrounds the property, extending to a large front porch and a full terrace out to the back of the villa. The garden supports various fruit trees to which guests can help themselves when in season. These range from pink grapefruit, oranges ,hybrid mandarines ( a cross between lemons and mandarins) and lemons. There is a beautiful olive tree in the front garden although olive oil has not yet been mastered. To the rear, there are 2 beautifully scented Jasmin bushes and other local trees, surrounding the pool. Off the kitchen there is a very large porch with ratan furniture and a beautiful archway to the front garden. This opens onto the pool yet is sheltered from the hot sun. A perfect place to enjoy breakfast and also an afternoon nap.. At one end of the pool is a pergola, again offering shade throughout the day. This is a permanent fixture made out of wood, is 4m x 3m and hosts the outdoor dining area with a view to the west for the sunset.

The villa is bright and airy and is freshly painted throughout regularly. Ideal for families or several couples alike. The beach is nearby with a long wide promenade filled with bars and restaurants, open til late. Also, you will find every type of food and restaurant one road back from the beach as well as boutique shops, small supermarkets, crepes, waffles and ice cream cafes. The area is home to a number of traditional Spanish tapas served with a crisp glass of sherry or an ice cold beer. There are many large supermarkets within 1 km of the villa all selling fresh vegetables, fish and meat and fruit.

Several Phamacies are nearby and there is a bus top on the main road for the beach or Chiclana town centre if you don't feel like driving. I do however recommend a car as there are many local attractions and cultural places to see as well as shopping for groceries. For reference the house coordinates are . N36 23.010'W 6 09.937'

Things to do :
Golf courses are nearby with a 15min drive to Novo Sancti Petri, sherry bodegas and flamenco in Jerez. Go karting towards Conil de la Frontera, in El Colarado. Spain loves its fiestas and festivals and there are many throughout the year. Don't miss Santa Semana for Easter in Chiclana or the popular horse fair in Jerez during May. Chiclana also has its own Feria in June and is an occasion for the whole family. Take the opportunity to visit Tangier for a taste of Morocco by crossing the straits of Gibraltar. The nearest port from Chiclana is Tarifa, around a 50 mins drive. On the fast ferry, you can be in Morocco in 35 mins. Don't forget the beautiful Spanish countryside, where Andalusia is home to 21 natural parks. Along the coast and surrounding countryside, we have a spectacular and extraordinary diverse terrain. There are beautiful walks where you will encounter numerous villages and places to stop, relax and eat whilst out and about. Bird watchers will be treated to seeing a variety of different species as this area is on one of the most widely used migratory routes. Flamingos can be seen in large flocks as well as white storks. These graceful birds return twice a year and can be seen balancing precariously in their nests, on posts and in trees. For those looking for a faster pace, there is horse riding nearby either on the beach or a lesson, a tennis club nearby and a water park a short drive away. Sherry tasting at one of the Bodega's in Chiclana or in the historic town of Jerez. There are also flamenco shows and the equestrian school in Jerez. Take yourself to Seville, easily done by train, for a day out to experience the Cathedral and shopping !

There are several white washed villages nearby which take you back to the Moorish times, one is Medina Sidonia, about a 30 minutes drive, Arcos de la Frontera and Vejer de la Frontera. All worth a visit.

Beach towels are provided so please use these around the pool and keep house towels for inside only.
Please don't leave the aircon running whilst all the doors and windows open. This will be expensive for me but will also take longer to cool the rooms down. Doors to the bedroom should be closed whilst aircon on.
The electricity can trip when all appliances are on for example, kettle, toaster, washing machine and dishwasher.

Very nice villa in a good location.

By Colm Killian on 25-Aug-2024

We enjoyed our time in Villa Soraya, the villa itself is very spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped. Communication with Soraya was excellent from booking thru to checking out - a very easy process. Location is great, 5 minute drive to La Barrosa, 15 minute drive to Cala de Roche which we spent most days. The highlight for us was the pool which the kids enjoyed, sunny from morning until the sun set. We hope to return again!

A great summer break

By Seb on 28-Jul-2024

The house is very well equipped and it was nice to feel it was ‘lived in’. Sometimes in holiday rentals there’s nothing, not even hand soap! We had everything we needed and it was easy. Location - as described and a car is better although walkable to the beach in about 1/2 hour. The pool is good and larger than in many places. Regular visits from the pool man kept it nice and clean. The outdoor space is lovely. Wifi allowed me to work - one issue at one point but a reboot sorted it and then it was ok for the whole stay. Communication has been fantastic from start to finish. Whether sorting out payment or arrival or said issue with wifi. We arrived before the cleaner had finished but it was fine for us to leave our stuff. English speaking team on hand via WhatsApp for any maintenance issue (rarely needed). The owner refunded the deposit within days of us leaving. Overall a hassle free stay. We didn’t know Chiclana / La Barossa and we’re so glad we picked this location - fantastic beach and great atmosphere with lots of nice places to eat.

Hi Seb and family, thank you very much for your kind words and review. I am glad you enjoyed my home. I think it’s so important that our holidays run as smoothly as possible as we wait a long time for them to happen and they are not cheap. Sometimes the WIFI needs a reboot so really glad you mentioned it. I would like to say thank you for looking after my home and you and your family are welcome back anytime. Warm regards Soraya

Lovely, quiet, comfortable 3 bed vllla

By The Stephenson Family on 05-Aug-2023

We did get a little lost on why there, but once found very happy. Great size pool. Villa has everything we needed. Family were happy. Definitely need a car for convenience. Playa Borrossa is a gorgeous beach with lots of choice for food and drinks. Plenty of supermarkets 5 min drive. Information in the villa for convenience. You’ll have a relaxing, comfortable holiday.

A nice villa to holiday in!

By G ANDERSON on 22-Jul-2022

We were very positive about the villa and facilities. The inside had all needed facilities and finished in standard Spanish style. The only slight negative was the time taken for the hot water to get to the bathrooms. The outside space was excellent and located in a quiet neighbourhood. The owner and villa service staff are very responsive and provided good information prior. The info laminated sheets provided in the villa were very useful, please note that they are double-sided!

Owner response on 07-Sep-2023

Hi Grant Thank you for your review and comments. I’m glad you enjoyed your stay and had everything you needed. It’s true that the water can take time to arrive at the en-suite, I am unable to amend this due to the boiler placement and water coming from the bore hole. At some point, I will try to out a boiler nearer the bathroom. Thank you for looking after my home and hope to see you again
