Party of nine and had a fabulous stay for my husbands 60th Birthday. The villa is fully equipped and was decorated for easter for us, what a lovely touch. The villa is set high in the mountains so the views are breath taking! Hired a car from the owners and it's a must to get to some lovely out of the way places and indeed Paphos itself. We hired BBQ man Cyprus to come and cater for my husbands birthday and we weren't disappointed , amazing food and drinks. Lovely heated pool and plenty of sun loungers. Thank you Nick, Nicole and Irene for a memorable stay.
Wow! What an amazing week we have just had at Villa Ampelitis in Statos! We’d been looking forward to a break from it all but had not imagined just how relaxing it was going to be! From the outset, Irene at Sundance and later on Nicole, the owner of the villa, were incredibly helpful - nothing was too much trouble. We had a lot of communication upon booking and then in the weeks prior to our trip, to ensure that everything was ready for us and as we wanted it. It was so kind of Nicole and Nicos to leave us a bottle of wine from the local winery (so good!), Keo, milk, bacon, salami, and other groceries to welcome us to their home! As we were staying at the end of December, we paid the central heating supplement and for the pool to be heated to 30 degrees C and we’re so glad we did, everything was so cosy and the pool was blissful - we really felt like we were living the life of celebrities. The villa itself is AMAZING! Glass everywhere, which makes it very light and airy, as well as super modern. In the summer you could open many of the glassed areas right up to bring the outside in, in the winter it meant we had beautiful views of the surrounding nature and sunrise/sunset. We were spoiled for choice on where to sit, so many beautiful outside spaces. We barbecued several times on the kettle bbq, I think if we’d been a larger party we would have used the huge bbq with built in food preparation area. We usually have problems sleeping when we’re away from home but the beds were incredibly comfortable and the bedding was too. I have to also mention the very tasteful Christmas decorations which were around the living area of the villa, they really did make us feel at home! Everything about the villa is modern - superb bathroom facilities, leather reclining suite, wet room next to the pool etc., but the kitchen was fantastic! I had real home envy! Open plan and incorporating every piece of kit you could ever need (coffee machine, dishwasher, many pots and pans, a range of glassware, serving dishes, baking trays, a huge fridge), it was a joy to cook in. We did a big shop on our way to Statos, which was recommended by Irene, as the locality just has a few small Mini-Markets and a butcher, where you can get great meat, milk, eggs, water, and basic items. The pool is superb! We were in there for hours every day, it was particularly beautiful at sunset and lit up at night. It’s much longer than a villa pool usually is and I was able to swim lots of lengths each day as well as play with our children (aged 8 and 10) in there. Beautifully clean and well maintained, as the rest of the villa, the pool is just stunning. We will definitely be back (maybe in the summer next time to see what it’s like in the heat, with all of the windows opened up) and wholeheartedly recommend Villa Ampelitis to families of 4, as we are, or large/extended family gatherings. Thank you so much to Nicole and Nicos for making your home available to others to enjoy, and to Irene for introducing us to it! Thank you again Nicole, Nicos and Irene, it was such a fantastic break and we really needed it! I am sure we will be back again soon! Best wishes, Emma, Chris and the boys xxx 16 January 2021
I feel really awful because I should have left this review last year. I'm disabled and a full time wheelchair user. I always struggle with villas. I can't tell you how many times I've arrived at a place having previously been told that there afren't any steps, it's level access with an adapted shower to then find out that the photos don't tell the truth..! However, Villa Ampelitis is near perfect for someone like me. No holiday home is going to cater to every problem I have but this Villa is near perfect. Beginning with the doors which are plenty wide enough. My wheelchair went through them with ease. The whole of the ground floor has glass doors which all open making getting around so easy. There are various options regarding toilets and showers. You can adapt these to suit your requirements. Nicole and Nikos will supply grab rails, shower chairs etc. There is a pool hoist..! If you're used to swimming and using a hoist then you'll know that they are not the most dignified of things but once you're over that it's a dream being able to get in and out of the pool without any issues. The bedroom downstairs can take a wheelchair if the room is set up as two single beds rather than one double. This is a shame as myself and my partner had to sleep separately. We didn't want our young daughter sleeping upstairs on her own so he slept upstairs and she slept with me in the other single bed. You may have gathered that the upstairs is inaccessible if you can't walk. There isn't a through floor lift. As I said at the start, nowhere will ever be 100% perfect and not being able to share a room with my partner or get upstairs was a downfall. However, it isn't a game changer as everything else is so good. The whole of the ground floor IS accessible. The verandas/patios are flat and there really aren't any steps or lips on the floor to worry about. The only thing I mentioned to Nicole on leaving was that it would be better to have a portable frame around the toilet instead of handrails that relied on suction. The frame could be removed when not needed and I'm sure they would make it available if you wanted it. All in all, a near perfect villa. There was a normal hoist available to me if necessary and Nicole and Nikos were attentive and available when you needed them, also providing great value car hire. Thank you both, it was a great holiday and we will definitely be back. As a side note, and no reflection on the owners, if someone ever designs a sunbed that is specially made for disabled people, so that I can tan my back, I'll buy one for my next holiday at Villa Ampelitis :)))
Hi Irene, We have been so busy at work that I have not had a chance to say how fantastic Nicos and the villa Ampelitis was at Christmas. They had thought of everything to make the villa home from home. The log fire was a real must as it was quite cold at night and even during the day we had the log fire on everyday and we all sat around it warming through. The hamper was perfect and they even gave Les a bottle of champagne for his 84 birthday that was such a lovely thing to do. The layout of the villa work so well and as you know we have pencilled in a date for Aug 2019 if it is ok with you can I leave it until next month to fill out the booking form and pay the deposit as Christmas is catching up with bank account I guess it was all those meze !!!. I cannot say thank you enough for your help and advice had we not had the log fire and central heating our old friends would of suffered. When it snowed on Christmas day we went up to the Troodos Village and had snow ball fights and sledging which was great but Les and Val could not manage the cold so stayed at the villa they used the swimming pool as a reading room with the sun pouring into the pool room they loved it. Booking the cars with Nicos worked really well but I did feel bad when our flight was delayed by nearly 4 hours he would not of got home until past midnight !. Speak soon re 2019! Bruce and Karen
Stunning villa. Everything you could need and within walking distance to the small town. Very Cypriot - lovey. You need a car but Sundance can sort that for you and there are local accessible wineries near by that offer amazing things - ask Irene! Loved our stay here, the BBQ is beyond fab and the whole place is just so relaxing. Excellent for wheelchair users, although the drive/pathway from the house to the road is very steep (the "only" bit that might be an issue). Fruit and veg in abundance (cherries; mmmmm) and plenty of space if there are more than one couple/family. Cannot praise it highly enough!
The pictures and videos don't do justice to this wonderful villa. Set high up into the Troodos hills the views and peace are amazing. Grand design and excellent 5* facilities means we will be looking to return in the near future for sure. What an amazing find for us in Cyprus after previous booking disappointment with other companies. Thank you Sundance Villas!!! #1 in Cyprus for the really 'best' villas.
