Description

Villa Near Montone, Umbria, Italy. Peaceful and secluded yet a tranquil walk from the beautiful hilltop town of Montone.
Stunning country home, ensconced in over twenty acres of private grounds, Casa di Luce nestles into a hill in verdant Umbrian countryside, a few minutes from the beautiful ancient hill top town of Montone. Surrounded by lawns, olives, woods and a mountainous horizon, anyone staying at Casa di Luce will appreciate the superb views and the special sense of peace and calm.

The villa has been lovingly restored and decorated in a modern chic style that blends seamlessly with the traditional stone walls and ancient wood beamed ceilings. Special attention has been paid to indoor lighting to create an intimate, but open and airy space. Swimming in the infinity edge pool, with a glass of wonderful Italian wine at hand, or just relaxing after a hard day of visiting idyllic local medieval villages and towns, Casa di Luce is ideal for friends and for families in search of a place of style, beauty and tranquility.

This villa is perfect for friends or families as the reception rooms are large and allow plenty of private space. The outdoor deck, by the kitchen garden, is a dream for watching glorious sunsets with a cocktail or the shooting stars at night. The covered loggia is perfect for barbecues and outside dining.

The ground floor has cool tiled flooring and is seamlessly open plan in the living areas. The entrance hall leads to a small office with a library for guests to pick and choose from, TV/video games room, comfortable drawing room leading to the pool with a traditional fireplace for cooler evenings and a huge well stocked kitchen/dining room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the valley below. A well equipped utility room leads off from the kitchen. On the other side of the entrance hall is a double bedroom suite, with a dressing room with a beautiful claw-foot bath and chandelier and a separate shower room and doors leading to the garden and its own patio.

The wrought iron staircase leads to the upstairs bedrooms and master suite. On this floor there is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, each with their own bathroom opposite, and the master suite with its own dressing room, superb bathroom, fireplace and a wrought iron staircase leading up to the tower room with views across the valley and sleeping for an additional 2 people if requested. The master suite has its own intimate private patio and outdoor staircase leading back to the front gardens. All bedrooms (and the tower room) have remote controlled ceiling fans for warmer evenings. All bathrooms have a hairdryer.

The surrounding gardens and Olive grove are awash with gorgeous plants and flowers. The pool area is stunning, loungers, hammocks and so much more! The pool annex hosts a table tennis table and secluded area for a spot of yoga or croquet; the kitchen garden is planted from May - September.

Another visit to this stunning place

By CP on 05-Sep-2023

This is the second time my family and I have visited this villa and it is simply beautiful. It holds all the rustic charm that one would come to expect of the Umbrian and Tuscan region with the modern day fixtures and fittings of a luxury hotel. The views are heavenly from the pool and outdoor terraces and you can dine away each night with the sunset or go to the local hilltop village a few minutes drive away with a selection of in my oppinion the prettiest restaurants one could sit at. Paul the manager was excellent as always and tended to any needs and queries. A real treat and hope to come back again. Thank you!

A little taste of luxury in a heavenly setting

By Cathryn C on 15-Aug-2023

We have just returned from 2w at Casa Di Luce, it is every bit as wonderful as the pictures suggest. We travelled with young adult children and their partners, the villa is extremely well kitted out, especially the kitchen where we enjoyed creating meals to eat on the beautiful terrace in the evening light. Paul, the manager was friendly and helpful. There as a basket of goodies waiting for us so we had some bits on the first night. Montone is an absolutely lovey village and we could have easily spent 2w just sitting in the square in the village having extended breakfasts and playing cards like the locals, or relaxing around the villa but we did stir ourselves for some outings. Perugia is a beautiful town, other favourite outings included Arezzo for the monthly antique market, Assisi, Urbino and Spello. There are at least 4 good restaurants just in Montone which was less than 5m drive away. It was a bit hot and the roads a bit lacking in pavement for us to walk to Montone, but it is probably more possible in cooler weather.

Beautiful villa

Spacious villa in a great location. Lovely pool and views. Montone has some very good restaurants for a small hillside village. Would stay again. Owners very helpful to fit stair gate for the 2 grandchildrens safety. Good information pack at the villa and a food parcel to get us started.

Perfect!

Such an incredible place to stay! We had an amazing month at Casa di Luce. The house is beautiful and is surrounded by amazing countryside. The local towns are also very pretty with lots of great restaurant options - and the location is also perfect for exploring other lovely towns nearby like Assisi and Spello. Our dogs also loved it :) Would definitely return!

Brilliantly situated villa, offering complete tranquility yet near enough to local towns and perugia. Well laid out to easily accommodate family and friends. Would highly recommend.

The most relaxing 2 weeks. We were well looked after throughout and wanted for nothing. The villa is near the very pretty Montone which has excellent cafes and restaurants………. The pool overlooks the most beautiful valley with the most amazing sunsets. Would love to return! Thank you
