5/5 High quality and homely apartment located close to the best of Marbella Paul and Fiona’s apartment at Torre Real is high quality and located close to the best that Marbella has to offer. The interiors of the property are tasteful and have been gathered over many years with books and art from different parts of the world. The main living space is generous with two zones for relaxing and a formal dining area. A very pleasant and bright sun room adjoins these spaces and opens to one of the two terraces; one to the south is large and ideal for sun bathing and has an expansive sea view (in the early light of the morning the white cliffs of the Rock of Gibraltar are visible in the distance at the most southern tip of Spain, while in the golden evening light the mountains of North Africa are backlit on the horizon). The second terrace is ideal for breakfast and looks on to the pool area. The mature garden setting of the complex benefits from a splendid pool area which is a quiet, excellently maintained, lifeguard-supervised, and nicely designed (gentle steps lead into the water on the shallow side) oasis. 5/5 Property ID 8129804 Beautiful apartment and surrounding grounds in which anyone could enjoy a holiday. I cannot praise the property highly enough. The next door manger was really friendly and helpful as were the owners. The only fault from my perspective was the location. Although it is only 3 km from Marbella you really have to use the car and then you can''take find anywhere to park. A walk to the sea front is the other option which takes 15 to 20 minutes depending on your fitness, but that is all there is there, except for a very expensive restaurant. A short walk on the sands and there is a boardwalk which takes you the rest of the way to Marbella. Other bars and restaurants are quite a bit further, again needing the car. And of course the dreaded A7 road is a nightmare for even the bravest of divers. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay so much Barry. In terms of your observations about the location, I would like to make the following points. Torre Real is set in beautiful 9 acre grounds, with two swimming pools and two tennis courts, as well as spectacular unimpeded views to the mountains in one direction, and the sea in the other. You cannot get this in accommodation located in the town, clearly. The apartment is also very spacious and quiet-again this is largely thanks to its location. Bearing in mind that it is a mere 3kms (2 miles) from the centre of Marbella, it is unique in terms of these attributes combined with a convenient position. We are not fast walkers, but it takes us 6 minutes to walk from Torre Real to the beach. The Trocadero restaurant, the first restaurant one encounters at the beach, is indeed up market, a fact which suits some people but not all. A pleasant 15 minute walk to the east along the beach takes you to three further restaurants and bars, which cater for all tastes and budgets. There are several more beyond these three. You do need a car if you holiday at Torre Real or, for that matter, pretty well anywhere else along the Costa, and this does mean driving along the A7 at some point. No doubt some Spanish motorists would find driving on many British roads quite stressful, because it is unfamiliar to them. If one chooses not to rent a car at the airport, one is faced instead with an 80E taxi fare in each direction just to get from, and back to, the airport. You are correct to say that parking in the street in Marbella is very difficult, in the same way that it is in many British towns. That is why there are numerous underground car parks, always with ample free space located all over Marbella. These are spotlessly clean, well maintained, and reasonably priced. The one we recommend in our ‘staying at Torre Real ‘ guide is just 50 metres from the beach promenade and a 5 minute walk to the beautiful Marbella Old Town. We thank you again for your kind comments and observations, and hope you will forgive the lengthy response, but we felt that some of these points needed to be answered in greater detail.
5/5 Superb rental in Marbella We recently had a very enjoyable stay at this apartment just outside the centre of Marbella. The apartment is very homely and is set in beautiful grounds. Penny who looks after the apartment was very helpful and friendly when we arrived and showed us around the apartment. It was nice to know that should we have any issues Penny was there to help. The apartment is in a great location and it only took a few minutes to get into Marbella and Orange Sq in the old town. I would definitely recommend the apartment as it has everything you need for a lovely holiday. 8/19/2019 at 5:57 PM
Summer sunshine Excellent spacious apartment with all amenities for an enjoyable holiday. Beautiful well maintained gardens & superb swimming pools. The view from the rear of the apartment overlooked the extensive grounds, pools & mountains was lovely a lovely feature when dining out on the balcony. The beautiful magnolia tree at the rear of the apartment obscured the view of the high rise flats. The view from the front balcony overlooking the gardens & sea was also delightful however the drone from the A7 dual carriage way which was at the bottom of the drive was a little noisy for sitting out for any length of time. Penny the manager who lived opposite was very helpful & informative. Overall we had a wonderful 3 week break & hope to return in the near future. 7/5/2019 at 8:11 PM
