Overview
Description
Villa Las Coberteras is a warm and welcoming ‘Modern Mediterranean’ style three double bedroom house on one level with a swimming pool and a covered summer kitchen with barbeque, ideal for a family holiday. The large, shaded front porch overlooking the pool is an ideal spot for al fresco dining at the six-seater table or relaxing with a cool drink.
The front door opens on to a wide, cool, tiled hallway. To the left are the three bedrooms (two twins and one large double) and a large bathroom with shower and bath. To the right is the lounge, comfortably accommodating six people with a television and large sofa.
There is a fully-fitted dine-in kitchen with electric cooker and hob, microwave, dish washer and larder. Beyond the kitchen is a large utility room with a washing machine, sink and another cooker. Patio doors lead to the south facing terrace, perfect for breakfast or evening meals, with wonderful views over the open hillsides.
Villa Las Coberteras is ideally situated in Los Romanes, a charming, old-style whitewashed mountain village overlooking Lake Vinuela and Mount Maroma amid the beautiful scenery of the Axarquia district of Andalucia, a fifty minute drive east from Malaga airport and a 25 minute drive to the beach at Torre del Mar. A car is essential as there is no public transport to Los Romanes.
The villa is set back from the road in a private cul-de-sac within five minutes’ walk of Miguel’s Venta El Charco restaurant and bar, famed for its grilled meats and tapas specialities.
A short stroll to the centre of the village takes you to a balcony with stunning views over the valley, then past the boutique eight bedroom Hotel Las Orquideas and on to El Mirador, a bar and cafe with a large terrace.
Next door is the Coviran supermarket for all essential supplies and its own fresh meat counter. A couple of hundred yards on from the Coviran shop, past Pepe’s small bar, is the Los Romanes olive oil factory co-op, which houses a small supermarket and has a petrol station below, next to the factory.

Leave ReviewExcellent stay
By Julieanne Crothers on 04-Dec-2023I stayed here in December and thoroughly enjoyed my trip. The villa is very homely and has so much space both inside and out. Everything you could think of was provided for throughout. Richard the Owner was very helpful and I found the local information provided very useful. I visited a number of places surrounding Los Romanes and cannot wait to return and will most certainly book this villa on my return. Thank you for looking after us so well.

Spacious and peaceful!
By David Barker on 27-May-2023Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Las Coberteras. This was our second visit and we would go there again. Great location, quiet village with 2 food shops and a couple of bars. One can walk the hills from the front door and the beach is 30 minutes down the hill. Lovely comfortable house with a great kitchen and the pool is a bonus.
