Description

Quinta da Matina is a beautiful renovated farmhouse set in mature sub tropical garden on the edge of the village of Portelas, having views of Funchal ridge to the south and Monchique mountains to the north east.

It is ideal for people looking for a tranquil location yet being very near to the beaches and the historic town of Lagos with its many restaurants, beach bars, the marina, interesting shops and discos.

The farmhouse is spacious and 'L' shaped and on one level making it safe for children and easy for older people. The sofa bed can be provided for additional number of people.

Outside there is a large heated private pool 15m x 5m x 2.2m in deep end - 0.9m in shallow end, there is a small gate to secure small children between the pool terrace and upper terrace, the pool has underwater lighting which creates a luxurious ambiance whilst dining in the evening on the covered terrace, surrounding the pool the walled garden has mature palms and many colour full sub tropical plants, there is a covered terrace with table and chairs overlooking the pool, on the uncovered terraces there is a sofa and tables covered by a large umbrella, are sun loungers, table chairs and umbrella, purpose built barbecue, the pool area can be secured against small children.

There is a lawn area for children to play.

The house is approached by a private drive opening onto a large paved area in front of the house and open garage.

The garden is fenced but for people that have allergies or problems with animals there are dogs living with the owners on the neighboring property.

The entrance hall has plenty of space for prams, golf clubs etc. and has a cloakroom leading off.

There is are resturante bars in the village and a mini market shop.
In Lagos there are supermarkets, fish and vegetable markets, banks, Museum, interesting churches a marina, water sports centre, boat and dolphin viewing trips, tennis, golf, crazy golf, micro lighting centre, balloning, and bike hire there are very many restaurants both for indoor or pavement dining for all tastes and pockets, bars, discos, street entertainers.
There is bike riding. Serious Go karting at the motor race track


Coast/Beach:

Beaches in Lagos are about 2.5 kms, 5 minutes in the car.

There are many other beaches further along the south coast worth exploring within twenty minutes drive. The west coast is about 25 minutes and popular with surfers and is always quieter even in high season.

Travel:

Faro airport is 78 kms and under one hour drive on the new motorway to Lagos. Car hire is strongly recommended . We can let you have Car hire details and rates of a very competitive local company whom we have dealt with for many years.
