Left on Aug 28, 2019 for a stay in Aug 2019 We were 2 families with 4 children ranging between 3 and 9 years old. The villa had everything we needed for a very relaxing holiday. Comfortable, spacious, tasteful, exceptionally clean and well equipped. We didn’t want to hire a car and this villa is very well placed for local amenities. Only a 5 min walk to a small beach and beach restaurant and only 10 min walk to the larger beach at Calas de Mijas which has many beach restaurants. The supermarket was only 10 mins walk and we were fine bringing back what we’d bought in a child’s buggy and didn’t even need to use a taxi. Local buses run frequently and we really enjoyed a trip to Mijas de Pueblo- beautiful views and a traditional Spanish mountain town. Ron and Helen popped in a few times to clean the pool and changed the beds linens and towels after our first week- friendly and very helpful. The villa’s pool is perfect and we were quite content spending several days enjoying the pool and the lovely villa. Would thoroughly recommend.
We first went to Villa Sophia in 2012 and we’ve been every year since with one exception when we went to Portugal and rang Sarah on day 2 to ask if we could come back in 2018 as we missed it! It is quite simply like being at home but better. Everything about the villa is top notch and Ron and Helen who look after the villa for Sarah are fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble and it’s a perfect location. 10 mins to the supermarket (Mercadona) with a cheap taxi back or a walk with the shopping trolley on wheels which Ron got for us. Lots of restaurants and the fantastic aqua park are great for our now teens near Torremolinos. Cafe Boulevard in La Cala on FB great for breakfast, advice, printing, taxi booking, you name it! Sarah a brilliant host and Ron and Helen just so lovely. We love it there and highly recommend!
Beautiful and superbly equipped villa with amazing pool. Excellent peaceful location just a 10 minute stroll to supermarket and the centre of Mijas and 5 minute stroll to beach. Stayed here with my sister and her family and this is undoubtably one of the best villas I have ever stayed in. It was clean and immaculate throughout and had everything you could possibly need on holiday. Views of the sea from the poolside were stunning
