Its location in tranquil & picturesque Old Skala is especially appealing for those looking for a quiet retreat away from the crowds, set in an acre of private grounds while still being close to the charming town of Skala, where visitors can find restaurants, bars, and long sandy beaches and beach sports.
This villa offers stunning views of the Ionian Sea to the Greek mainland & mountains, Zakynthos and beyond, the surrounding lush greenery, and the scenic hills of Kefalonia, provide guests with an authentic, peaceful Greek island experience.
The spacious open plan villa has air-conditioning, heating & fly screens throughout & is comfortably furnished & well equipped to suit a couple or a large family, with lots of extras including free unlimited Wi-Fi, UK TV, bluetooth speaker, badminton & tennis rackets, games/DVD/CD/book library, Egyptian cotton bedding, cool box, loungers, XL indoor and outdoor sofas. Private chef & grocery delivery service are available on request at additional charge.
The villa comfortably sleeps 6, in 3 sea-view en suite bedrooms, all a similar size. A baby or young child can be accommodated in a cot or fold down bed on request (extra linen fee if more than 6 guests). High chair & travel cot provided.
Bedroom 1 - Ground floor, king size bed, en-suite bathroom with large walk-in shower, double patio doors lead onto the pool terrace, panoramic sea views.
Bedroom 2 - First floor, twin beds, can be made into super-king size beds on request, en-suite bathroom with bath & separate shower, doors to a large balcony, panoramic sea views.

The infinity sea views from the private pool are stunning. The pool is large and floodlit, with walk-in steps, submerged seating & hydro massage jets. It measures 13m x 5m, depth 0.6m - 1.9m, perfect for swimming laps & room for children to play & swim.
Outside a large shady covered terrace with bougainvillea clambering up the pillars is a great outdoor living, dining & snoozing space, with a dining suite & 2 large sofas & chairs to relax & escape the midday heat. A large balcony & huge sunny patio with loungers & parasols gives everyone space to relax.
Located in South East Kefalonia, near Skala, Katelios, and Poros, in a beautiful area with mountain & beach views, there are lots of walking & cycling trails, a great choice of golden sandy beaches, from quiet Mounda 'turtle' beach, to Skala's 3 km long sandy beach, with deserted quiet stretches, as well as boat trips from the beach, water sports, tavernas & beach bar service, depending on which area you choose. Local landmarks include Skala's Roman Villa, Mycenaic Tomb and Moni Iperagias Theotokou Atrou.
Villa Ambelonas has been inspected and approved by the Greek National Tourism Organisation (EOT) ΑΡ ΜΗΤΕ 0830K10000864901 and swimming pool operational licence N.3766/09. Rigorous cleaning protocols have been implemented, to ensure your family enjoy a safe holiday.
The new Greek accommodation tax can be paid locally or in advance, E15 per night (per villa not per person).
Pets, on-site parties and group events are not permitted sorry.

By Alison Green on 18-Aug-2024The villa was perfect for our family group. The bedrooms were comfortable and well appointed. The whole villa was so well equipped, the owners had thought of everything. As the person who does the cooking on holiday, having all the kitchen equipment you would expect to have in your own home was wonderful, and very rare in a holiday villa. Plus the little touches like a full stock of herbs, the wonderful starter basket of goodies and a folder full of local hints and tips was really appreciated. The villa was spotless on our arrival, and Elaine the housekeeper was so thorough and helpful, we really enjoyed our quick chats with her. We would definitely recommend the villa to friends and family and if we do return to Kefalonia we'd love to stay again.

A fabulous villa with stunning views
By Mrs Anne Whitehurst on 10-Aug-2024We had a great stay in your beautiful villa with its fabulous views and amenities and really enjoyed our first visit to Kefalonia with a good mix of days out to local beaches, trips by car to Sami and by boat to Ithaca, relaxing by the pool over scrabble and cards, as well as dinner at the restaurants in Skala or at the villa.

Family holiday at Villa Ambelonas

Fabulous!

Spotlessly clean, so comfortable, and the views over the sea and Skala are stunning. The ‘Welcome Pack’ is waiting for us when we arrive and is a wonderful thought after a long journey - a lovely cuppa! The owners Irene and Rob, are exceptionally helpful and Elaine who looks after the villa in Kefalonia is wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble. Beautiful secluded villa for a relaxing holiday.

First Holiday with a Baby and Friends
By Adam on 15-Jun-2024First stayed in this villa 8 years ago and have spoken about it over the years so when looking for a villa to go to with our 9 month old and friends this one came to mind and it didn’t disappoint. Everything we needed that we couldn’t travel with was already thought of in the villa, it’s incredibly clean and well looked after and the pool and view are second to none. Irene’s communication from booking to getting home is great. We took note of a number of the recommendations on places to eat and again they did not disappoint. My wife is someone who once she has visited a place once isn’t to worried about revisiting however she has said she would definitely go again so it must be a good sign. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing break away from normality!

Stunning Villa and location
By Mark and Carolyn on 26-Aug-2023From the 1st email to the last email Robert and Irene were an absolute pleasure to deal with.Nothing was too much trouble and every detail of our stay was perfect. The villa is absolutely beautiful,the pictures don't do it justice,when we first opened the gate and got put of our hire car we couldn't believe how perfect everything was.The pool is the first thing to catch your attention and what a pool!Chilly in the morning but once the sun gets to work on it,you won't want to get out,the view is amazing and many hours were spent enjoying it. The villa itself is spotless and everything you need is provided,a lovely welcome pack was quickly devoured. The bedrooms are all en suite, beds are big and comfy and the air conditioning was very welcome. The location is wonderful,so peaceful and visually stunning. Our family had a holiday full of amazing memories and we will definitely be returning in the future.
