I stayed at the Kingside villa at the beginning of October for one week with 3 friends. Our flight and travel from the airport meant we didn’t arrive until almost midnight, but Dimitra still met us and kindly showed us around her beautiful holiday home. The villa is in the most peaceful location, on the mountainside between two coasts. I recommend hiring a car to get around, there is so much to see in the area. In the morning we opened the doors and couldn’t believe the stunning view. Then you hear the bells and the goats bleating in the hills, it’s so lovely to hear. The villa is absolutely immaculate. It is finished to a high specifications and nothing has been forgotten. The beds were so comfortable. I slept soundly every night. It was great to be left a choice of towels for the pool, beach and bathroom. The linen was high quality. In the kitchen there is everything you could wish for, plenty of glasses and pool side glasses and even a cupboard full of coffee and tea and every day essentials. Dimitra was a wonderful host and makes you feel very welcome. She left us a wonderful welcome basket on our arrival with bread, local honey and jams. We also bumped in to her and her husband at the local taverna( which is excellent, you must go!) and she kindly paid for our drinks bill, which was most unexpected and generous. She also allowed for us to have a later checkout at the end of our holiday which she didn’t have to do, but we really appreciated this as we had a late return flight. The nearby beach of Myrtos is a must. We took the 10 minute drive several times during our stay. The water is so clean and blue, it’s gorgeous. There are shops and tavernas also in Agia Efirmia, which is also only 10 minutes by car. I have been to many Greek islands and stayed in lots of villas over the years. Kingside Villa will be one of my favourites by far. The stunning area and views, and the immaculate , faultless villa are going to be hard to beat. If you love the traditional Greek life and food, this is a must. Kefalonia is a fabulous island that has everything. Thank you Dimitra for our wonderful holiday, we didn’t want to leave!!!! I would highly recommend this to all my friends and family and hope to return again soon. Thank you again. Penelope, Alison, Claire and Sue.
King Side Villa was perfect for our family of four. It's very comfortable and in a beautiful, peaceful location. It's also stylishly and thoughtfully designed and equipped. We had everything we could need for an unforgettable holiday. (And the local taverna - which is walkable - is the best we found anywhere on the island.)
Stunning contemporary design throughout. Wonderful little touches such as Nuxe toiletries and breakfast for our first morning. We had a wonderful holiday, a quiet idyllic location, with good restaurants and great beach near by. Friendly and helpful host. We’ll be back!
It was our first time in Kefalonia Island and King Side Villa was simply the best place to stay with my family (2 adult & 2 kids). Dimitra our host was so welcoming and for sure we will come back ;-)
The house is really nice and modern with excellent views of the valley. A lot of care has been given to make sure of a comfortable and relaxing stay. The wifi is decent for browsing and streaming, but I found that 4G is much better for video calls that need faster upload speed (4G down/up was 80/10Mbps). The location is ideal for those looking to escape from busy/larger towns to the peaceful countryside, but still within close drive to attractions (excellent beaches and big port towns within 15min drive). The surrounding area (within 5 minutes) has a variety of restaurants that we believe are some of the best we visited in Kefalonia. I noted a previous guest complained that the pool doesn''t have privacy from a neighbouring house. We didn''t feel that neighbouring homes were overlooking the pool area or that there wasn''t privacy. The area is very quiet and we didn''t see the neighbours much really, except when you walk down the driveway. Also, the hedges has grown since that review, making it almost impossible for neighbours to look in onto the pool area.
We absolutely loved this villa and its location on the edge of a small village but completely private. The view of the valley and sea in the distance is gorgeous. The villa is bathed in natural light and there are tables on both sides of the house to sit, depending on the sun. The back of the villa is surrounded by trees. It is only 10 minutes to Myrtos beach. This was one of the favourite villas we have rented in Greece in the past 15 years.
