Description
Introducing DAR-IT-TORRI by Jules
“Behind a very ordinary front door, you’d expect an ordinary house for your Gozo Holiday. How wrong was I? Dar it-Torri, meaning Tower, is an original tower house that has been magically transformed into a holiday home full of mystic charm and quirkiness. Expecting to find a 2-bedroom farmhouse, we open the front door into what was evidently the original mill room. Rustic with rows of limestone ceiling arches make it a welcoming reception. This tower house charms from the start with no end of imagination.
Not unusual for villas in Gozo to have an internal spiral staircase leading to the first-floor bedrooms nor for Gozo farmhouses to have external stairs the same way. Here, there’s a lovely twist. Follow the spiral stairs to the first floor where you are taken outside to reach an elevated part of the tower. Here, doors open into the intriguing living quarters of the tower house. You are greeted with rustic open arms, great design and modern comfort. Enjoy your Gozo holiday from the vantage of the terrace, soaking in miles of panoramic views.
This Gozo holiday home reminds me of the Grimm brothers fairy tale romance of Rapunzel. Where the handsome prince would visit her in the tower but without the benefit of stairs. Some villas in Gozo are just exquisite. This has mystique and a romantic aura that make a delightful holiday home. Don’t leave it just to your imagination”. Jules
