"From the minute you walk through the front door and into its bonny reception hall Ponderosa puts a smile on your face. Spacious comfortable and tastefully restored this delightful Gozo holiday farmhouse still manages to preserve bags of original character.

You’ll find original wrought iron mill tools displayed throughout a legacy of its Gozitan heritage.

The pool terrace is a sanctuary of private space. And the sleeping accommodation on the first floor follows a large L-shaped landing which runs the length of the house. Its width and large feature windows reminded me of a grand court chamber. I can imagine dignitaries in robes sitting in the little antique chairs.

PROPERTY DESCRIPTION

Ground Floor:

Take the two steps down from the entrance hall’s stone arched doorway and you’ll find yourself in the lounge – once the original mill room. Spacious with immense character the room is bathed in light from large arched windows that are a feature on both levels of the Ponderosa.

Through another stone arched door is the dining area a quaint cosy farmhouse kitchen and the door to the pool terrace. Double doors in the kitchen lead to another lovely reception hall with a family shower room that’s handy for the pool.

Bedroom 1 is on the ground floor (off the reception hall) and has a double bed.

First floor:

Take the wide stone staircase upstairs and you’ll find yourself on a broad L-shaped landing that leads to the three other bedrooms.

Bedroom 2 overlooks the pool and has two single beds.

Bedroom 3 is a spacious double room with en-suite bathroom.

Bedroom 4 is at the front of the house and has twin beds.

There is a large family bathroom on the landing.

Outdoors:

The spacious private terrace of this Gozo holiday farmhouse provides an idyllic setting for swimming relaxing and enjoying an evening barbeque.

LOCATION: Ghasri Village

Ghasri is a peaceful village to the west of Gozo. From the village square, a road leads to the fabulous valley of Wied l-Ghasri 2.3km away from your Gozo holiday farmhouse. The Wied l-Ghasri area is a marvelous place for country walks or rewarding cycle rides especially in winter and spring. The valley ends at the sea wedged between high cliffs where a secluded inlet makes an ideal spot for swimming snorkeling and together with the sea surrounding it a very popular spot for diving.

On the way be sure to stop at the charming old chapel dedicated to the patronage of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The two shallow bays of Xwejni and Qbajjar are both 4.1 Km away. Next to each other, they have small pebbly beaches and rocky stretches that lead to clear blue water. Excellent for swimming they are enjoyed by locals and visitors alike and are popular with divers especially beginners. You’ll also find a few fishing boats here and a couple of bars and restaurants on the seafront.

La Stanza is the nearest restaurant 1 km away in Victoria. The Lighthouse supermarket in Ghasri is nearby and Victoria’s shop's cafes bars and restaurants are only 1 km away. The 308 bus will take you there in 5 minutes.

The feast of Ghasri is celebrated on the first or second Sunday in June and is dedicated to Corpus Christi. Victoria has two big feasts one in the third week of July and the other on 15 August.
