Villa Ariadne is situated amongst ancient olive groves on a quiet country lane leading to the beautiful village of Gavalochori.
The villa is beautiful, detached, comfortable, light, modern and airy set in mature gardens only 8 minutes walk from 2 tavernas, one kafenion. a bakery ,2 mini markets and a Cretan gift shop.
Spectacular views of open country side ( Mountains, rolling hills, olive groves and villages in the distance) from all balconies. The upstairs balcony faces west for those fabulous Cretan sunsets - not to be missed!

No need to drive to the village for lunch or dinner - walking (400 metres) at night with a torch for guidance is wonderful - or you could steer by the stars.

The Villa has been awarded a Health First Safety Certificate from the Greek Tourism Ministry to show that the villa complies with the local regulations regarding COVID-19. Namely cleaning and presentation in order to provide a safe and secure environment for our guests.

GREEK MUNICIPALiTY TAXES
Tax of 0.5% (ie half a percent of the rental fee) will be added to the booking price. For example, if weekly rental is £2000 then the tax at 0.5% will be £10 .The total booking cost is £ 2,010.

CLIMATE RESILIENCE TAX Payable on arrival at the villa and the amount per night has not been ratified by the government (November 2024)

PRICES
Prices quoted are in Pounds sterling, per week, for up to 6 people occupying the villa and not per person.
Alternative length of stays of more than 7 nights are welcomed and are charged pro rata.

The villa is not available for events/party/ group bookings

WHAT IS INCLUDED
Prices include air conditioning, a welcome pack of pantry items,
All linen/towels, including pool towels.
Cleaning once per week. main areas, bedrooms and bathrooms only
Bed linen changed once per week
Bath and hand towel change changed twice per week

Pool towels are machine washed at the villa when the villa is cleaned during your stay
Two week stay villa cleaning before after and midway are included in the price

NB Pool towels provided are not for use at the beach.

There are NO hidden extras.

Please do not use suntan lotions with colourants ie carotene ( All suntan in Greece seems to have this ingredient) as this stains the pool liner.

Close by is the charming and friendly village of Gavalochori (400 metres) which has 2 tavernas Arismari and Monica's and a hairdresser/nail bar , cafe open all day for drinks and snacks , bakery. gift shop and two mini markets..

LOCAL INTEREST

Gavalochori Village has the following places of interest
Superb Folk Museum newly updated 3 euros entry charge, an ancient Olive Mill with beautiful Cretan arches and interesting Greek churches. Roman wells can also be found above the village.
Lovely walks to Almerida and Douliana.
Chania and Rethymno are a short drive away for sightseeing, Roman ruins at Aptera. Vrysses for the superb cake and ice cream/coffee shop.

BEACHES

The sandy beaches at Almerida 4 km and Kalives 8km are inviting with ample choice of tavernas, fast food gyros, icecream and coffee shop and bars for your enjoyment plus supermarkets, green grocers and butcher shops.
