Casa Las Mariquitas (see photo of Daily Mail article) is the perfect luxury holiday destination for families and groups offering wonderful fully-equipped accommodation with 6 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a VERY large heated pool, free WiFi and beautiful gardens. It sits in a magical elevated position with stunning scenery provided by the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the Mediterranean.
Las Mariquitas is only a 1.6km walk from the white Andalucian village of Frigiliana, regularly voted Spain's prettiest village, and a 5-minute drive from the lively beach town of Nerja. There are many local attractions and amenities to enjoy including an extensive restaurant selection.
We are pleased to connect our guests to a range of wellness solutions (at cost) at or easily accessed from the villa. These include yoga, massage, private tennis sessions/lessons, cycling (road, mountain and electric bikes), hiking (including organised walks), gym and sports. For those guests celebrating special occasions such as birthdays or anniversaries, we will help to organise (again at cost) a private chef at the villa plus live music with a fabulous singer. Previous guests have described these occasions as "magical".
The villa offers a range of guest accommodation, 4 bedrooms in the Main villa, including a studio apartment with separate garden access, and a 2 bedroom apartment located with the pool.
A special feature of the property is its pool, possibly the largest in the area, and measuring 18m x 6m. The terrace surrounding the pool benefits from a gentle breeze on hot days and is well-equipped with sun loungers (12), parasols and outdoor shower. The pool house includes a bathroom, washing machine, dishwasher, kitchenette and towel store. This opens to a shaded veranda, adjoining the pool, with 12-seater dining and gas barbeque. An additional charge is required for pool heating and is not typically needed mid-June to mid-September.
The large landscaped garden has a striking variety of foliage including lawns, orchard and feature palms /trees. A gated in-out driveway has space for several cars along with a large portico. The villa, pool, and gardens have a very private nature and are not overlooked by the neighbouring properties.
On entering the property guests are greeted with a beautiful mountain and sea view. The large living room includes comfortable sofas / chez longe and 4K TV with international channels.
The spacious kitchen has a traditional large Spanish oven (electric and gas) with all mod cons provided such as fridge/freezer, drinks fridge, microwave, dishwasher, kettle and Nespresso coffee machine. The dining room features indoor dining for 12 opening to a large shaded terrace and a large outdoor dining table. Close by is a further BBQ (charcoal) and cooking area.
Upstairs, the master bedroom, with super king sized bed, has a private terrace with incredible views and is served by a bathroom with a large bath and separate shower. Conveniently close to the master bedroom is a further twin bedroom (double and single bed), perfect for children or adults alike. A double bedroom (kingsize bed) /bathroom suite is located on the ground floor providing level access from the front entrance.
At garden level, there is a well-equipped studio apartment suite with twin beds, kitchenette (no hob), living area and shower room. An adjacent al fresco dining area is perfect for a garden breakfast.
The two-bedroom newly refurbished pool apartment offers easy pool and garden access and an additional degree of privacy from the main villa. It includes double and twin bedrooms, a lounge / dining area (6 seats), TV with international channels, kitchen, cloak and shower room with its own terrace and fantastic views.
All Las Mariquitas bedrooms are air conditioned (also with heating function).

By anni meiner n. on 16-Feb-2025We had a great family week at “La Maraquitas” in February with nice weather.Great house with plenty of space inside and outside. Private places too. The pool was super. The area is Quite. Short distance to beautiful Frigiliana. Can highly recommend.

Everyone had their own little piece of paradise in this beautiful part of the World there is nothing that we could say negatively other than a quote from my brother “A fountain with an endless supply of white wine would not go wrong lol “!!! The entire experience from Booking and all communication with Andrew was easy swift and concise ! On arrival greeted by charming Oscar who was also a delightful gentleman Don’t really want to promote this Villa just in case we struggle to get booked again 🤩 Simply wonderful !!!! Thank you. Our holiday was idyllic !!
Spacious with great views
By Paul S on 15-Jul-2024Difficult to fault. Very spacious accommodation in large gardens with super large pool. Bedroom and bathrooms well laid out to accommodate our mixed group of couples and singles. Very well equipped; never ran low on glasses, crockery or cutlery, which has often happened at previous rentals. The large pool was a real treat, as were all outdoor spaces with many seating/relaxing areas. Made full use of barbecue, pool table and ping pong. Spectacular views all around and easy access to Frigliana and Nerja made this a great choice for us. Would definitely return.
Amazing - I highly recommend it

The kids loved the pool - the adults too :) - plenty of space for all of us: spacious and peaceful rooms and multiple dining options. The location is really quiet, but Frigliana and Nerja are only 5 minutes by car. Great hike from the house to Frigliana through the Rio Higuerion. Quick communication from the owner who was very thoughtful and cooperative! I highly recommend staying here
Perfect family gathering place in beautiful & quiet setting!
By Ann P on 21-Nov-2023Wonderful in all ways! Photos and descriptions of the villa interior and exterior provide accurate information. Everything inside the house (and the pool) was very clean. What a brilliant idea to have two separate apartments in addition to the main house, on the property. This was perfect for our extended family gathering. Plenty of space for parking cars next to the house, inside the locked gate, was convenient and secure. We appreciated the comfortable seating inside the house, on the deck and around the pool. The wi-fi was great. Communication with owner Andrew, and on-site manager Oscar was fantastic. Large grocery store & fuel station are very close. Frigiliana, Nerja and Malaga are interesting, fun, clean places to explore and are our favorite towns in Spain.
Family holiday
By David C on 29-Oct-2023We have just returned from an amazing family holiday in Andrews stunning Villa, Its situation nestled just below Frigilliana was very peaceful and relaxing and we enjoyed many evenings on the veranda watching the sun go down sipping some chilled vino blanco .I would recommend hiring a car for your stay or use the local bus service which is located just 2 mins from the villa as the walk into Frigilliana is rather steep .The swimming pool is truly amazing and it was in use everyday. A big thanks must go to Oscar the property manager who was really friendly and very helpful to us all week especially sorting out our grocery deliver on our first evening.
