The villa has everything you could possibly need. A long private driveway leads to the house and pool and is not overlooked, so very private. Gorgeous infinity pool and far reaching views from all the well designed outside spaces of which there are several. Excellent air conditioning throughout and when we experienced one small nuisance with a bleeping smoke alarm the maintenance team were amazingly responsive and quickly resolved the problem. Communication with the owner was brilliant in the run up to our stay and we loved it so much there we have re-booked. There is some road noise which others have commented on, so if you're looking for complete silence then this property may not be for you. However, we thought it was a small irritant that was far outweighed by what this beautiful property has to offer. There are several small towns close by with many options to eat/ drink and small supermarkets. Lidl being around a 20 min drive away. Many of the close by tavernas are virtually on the beach. I do feel you really need a car as walking back from a night out would be uphill, (estimate around a half hour or so walk) and with no pavement and little illumination. Plenty of taxis though as an alternative. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending Hestia villa.
We made it we had the holiday we all needed. It was our goal to get here as I had a heart attack earlier in the year so this was perfect. Once you find it its easy to navigate around the nearby town. The girls walked into town every day to have a great coffee on the outskirts on the Chania road...the waiter was fit apparently ! The villa is perfect lots of space and private areas with plenty of shade if required. The pool is perfect great views and spent many hours checking the nautical life and the ferries etc. We used the facilities so some great versions of the Greek cuisine was enjoyed with local wines. Phil the owner was great and the couple that looked after the villa very helpful. Surrounded by olive and pomegranate trees. We are coming back just need to get the dates confirmed with the girls as they are the boss!! Thank you so much Ian
Have just spent the most heavenly week at Hestia Villa in Crete. Photos do not do this beautiful villa and its gorgeous views justice. We absolutely loved waking up in the morning to the sea views whilst having a dip in the pool. I travelled along with my two teenagers who also had the best week. The villa is fairly remote and in a beautiful setting and still close enough to walk down to Kalyves which we did multiple times. It’s quite uphill on the way back but the local taxi company in Kalyves were amazing and we used them regularly to collect us and drop us back to the villa. I was worried how we would manage without hiring a car but it was no problem at all and we used the local taxi company in Kalyves all week who was were amazing. We even got taxis to Chania and to Lake Kournas and they were very reasonably priced. There are also buses that you could use should you wish to. The booking process was also seamless and Phil was extremely helpful and without a doubt we would come back again. Thank you.
We have been holidaying at Villa Hestia for a number of years. Fantastic peaceful location, Villa is superb, fabulous pool with solar heating. Ample comfortable furniture outside with gorgeous views. Inside is just the same with very comfortable bed to master bedroom. All the facilities you require plus easily accessible to Almyrida and Kalyves. Cannot recommend highly enough.
We had a brilliant time. The weather was very good, Crete was beautiful and Hestia Villa exceeded expectations. Probably the best Villa we have stayed in since we stopped caravanning in 2010! It had everything we needed, and the range of outside spaces for sitting chilling and enjoying the amazing views is excellent. We made good use of the pool everyday, as well as visiting the lovely beach at Almyrida. The local town Kalyves is a short drive away and has a very good supermarket and some lovely tavernas with good tasty food at very reasonable prices. There was lots to see and do, but mainly enjoying a relaxing time reading and swimming at Hestia Villa.
This beautiful villa is in a peaceful spot surrounded by an olive grove allowing total privacy. The villa is well equipped and the pool is wonderful. The outside space is very well thought out and allows some shade when needed.We had a very relaxing 2 week stay and would book again. 22/9/2020 at 07:40
