We had a wonderful time. Paolo and Carla were excellent hosts. They reccommended some wonderful restaurants. Location was lovely. Camucia is a real place. Conad supermarket nearby. House very well equipped. Fantastic stay and even the weather was good in October.
We had a great time, welcomed by Carla and Paolo, in the typical and very clean house you can enjoy wonderful tranquility. The location is optimal for visiting the villages of Tuscany and Umbria.
We had a fantastic time at san San Silvestro. The house was exactly as advertised. As most quest’s before have stated , Carla and Paulo are absolute diamonds. On arrival we were ushered into their house for ice cold Prosecco, and cake! Later in the week Carla made us a huge tiramisu, then Paulo’s mum made us a Panzenella! There is fantastic space around the house and the minute Walk to the large swimming pool is through the vineyard.cortina is fab, camuncia has a large supermarket that our teenage boys walked to most days( sure they bought beer) . Florence is an easy day trip by train, as are a whole host of beautiful little hill towns. Just book this place and go , don’t think about it!!
We spent two wonderful weeks at this villa, and the welcome we received was beyond anything we have experienced before. Carla and Paulo went out of their way to ensure that we had everything that we wanted - from a beautifully clean villa and pool to providing an unexpected lasagne which we ate in the vineyard. On top of this we were shown how to make pasta and Tirimasu, in a traditional Italian way, and treated to some delicious wine and cava; we ate this with the family outside which was a real treat. The accommodation is spotless. The kitchen has a gas cooker, good size fridge and freezer and all the utensils that are necessary to make your stay a home-from-home. Good space downstairs and ample size bedrooms upstairs with comfortable beds and quality linen. Outside there are plenty of spaces to eat, a BBQ, and the location is both private and quiet. The pool is much larger than the photos suggest and the surround is both quiet and private - opposite their house. Carla was happy for us to pick fresh fruit and veg to use in our cooking. The area is great to explore and the local restaurants serve wonderful food. I would like to thank our hosts for enabling us to have such a wonderful holiday.
The house was interesting and historic, while spacious and comfortable. There was more than enough room and the location is perfect to explore Tuscany and Umbria. The check-in process was easy, and our hosts Paolo and Carla were most gracious in their welcome. During the stay, they even had us to dinner at their home. This turned into an even of multi-course Italian delights and interesting conversation. Overall, I'd rate the house and experience very highly. Cortona is a beautiful little city, made famous in the movie, with great shops, markets and restaurants, and it was easy to get around to other Tuscan and Umbrian delights such as Arrezzo, Todi and Perugia.
A fascinating old house in a fabulous area. Owner Paolo is a great character. Walk into Cortona, enjoy the Tuscan Sun! Highly recommended!
