Description

Casa Cristina is a luxury villa in very private position, in its own quiet grounds, which are not overlooked. It has fantastic and unobstructed sea views from the terraces and is only 1 km to the nearest beach. Our family has owned and enjoyed this wonderful villa for over 30 years. We still go every year as do many of our repeat clients.

Carvoeiro enjoys many good restaurants and bars (we often take an early evening 30 minute walk along a safe, paved footpath, sometimes stopping at the wonderful Sky Bar for a cocktail on the way). Taxis/Uber typically charge 6 or 7 euros each way. Benagil with its famous sea caves and popular beach is only a 5 minute drive in the other direction. The outstanding fish restaurant, O Algar. is also located there.

The Vale do Milho 9 hole golf course lies at the end of the road but there are many other lovely courses nearby including: Gramacho, Pinta, Palmares, Penina, Salgados and Boa Vista. There is organised daily tennis at nearby Rocha Brava ( 5mins walk ) where it is possible to hire courts.

The villa benefits from a fully gated large 10 x 5m pool, which can be heated, though this is not normally necessary during the height of summer. Please note there is an additional charge for pool heating. There is a pool side BBQ with a shady seated bower, and a cool inner courtyard with another BBQ for hot days. The pool terrace is divided from the upper terrace by a secure, gated fence.

All bedrooms have sea views with patio doors and shutters opening onto the top terrace. The Master bedroom has a super king size bed., and ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower, WC, bidet, bath and twin marble basin unit. The 2nd bedroom has a king-size bed and has its own bathroom with bath, shower over bath, WC and marble basin unit. The twin room has 2 large single beds and an en-suite with a shower, twin basins, and WC.

The lovely large open plan living room leads to a circular dining room, which comfortably seats six. Wide patio doors open onto the spacious upper terrace for outdoor dining. There are 3 large sofas, TV, DVD, Firestick. Free high speed (fibre) Wifi access.

A fully fitted kitchen includes an electric oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, ironing board plus iron, dinner service and everyday ware. wine glasses and tumblers etc. Washing machine and separate clothes drying area off kitchen.

There are steps that lead up to large roof terrace.

Other amenities include:
An additional Weber style kettle BBQ, cloakroom toilet, Cot and High chair available, Lockable safe, Air conditioning in living room and bedrooms, twice a week maid service including weekly bed linen change, beach and pool towels are provided.

No pets please.

Great two week holiday in quiet location

By Jon & Jenny on 30-Aug-2024

We stayed for a fortnight in early September. As there were only two of us we didn’t use what we called the “west wing’ of bedrooms and bathrooms but just used the very spacious main bedroom with en-suite bathroom, lounge and very well equipped kitchen. There are four barbecues, although we limited ourselves to using the kettle bbq which produced some great steak. The terrace, with an extendable sun blind, is a great area to sit out for meals etc, overlooking the pool and sea view. It’s a very quiet area and is a 35 minute, slightly hilly, walk into the centre of Carvoeiro, so we used to walk in, stopping off the first time at the Tivoli’s Sky bar for sunset drinks and then getting an Uber taxi back for around 4 euros. We found Ubers easy to find, generally sorted within 3 or 4 minutes. The villa is not really overlooked with the pool area being lower and behind a shielding wall and with metal fencing to keep young kids safe. Communication with the owners (Jackie) was excellent beforehand and during our stay. We had a minor issue with the pool cover during our stay and Jackie contacted the management company and it was fixed in a few hours. It includes a very good guide to the local restaurants and area - we cross-referenced it with Mumsnet(!) and ended up eating on our first night at Jardim do Farol and then in Carvoeiro at Touriga, Etxea, A Gale and then following Jackie’s recommendation of O Algar (excellent seafood and a view from the terrace) accompanied by her suggested Chablis-like Cartuxa wine. We loved the pool - decent size and depth (three main areas of 1.2m, 1.7m and 2.2m) and found that following the advice of keeping it covered at night ensured a nice temperature in the high 20’s during our stay. It’s regularly maintained and cleaned. Twice weekly (friendly) maid service and fresh towels was also appreciated. The drive from Faro airport, using the toll road, is an easy 50 minutes, although my initial attempts at driving a manual after ten years of an automatic was slightly exciting at the beginning. There’s an Intermarche supermarket about ten minutes drive away and the Waitrose/M&S like Apolonia a few minutes further on - excellent range of wines, delicatessens, butcher, bakery. Would happily return and recommend it, particularly for families looking for a quiet holiday.

Wonderful villa in a peaceful location with a view you will never forget.

By Sharon & Family on 18-Aug-2024

We were all incredibly impressed from the minute we walked in. The villa is very spacious, clean and comfortable. Home from home with everything you could ask for and more. The spotlessly clean outdoor area with plenty of sunbeds/seating, 2 bbq's, large clean pool and the view make this a very special place to relax and unwind. The excellent welcome pack was very much appreciated due to our late arrival. The villa and grounds are very well cared for with regular visits from the cleaner and pool man who were both polite and friendly. The nearest beach is only a 10 min walk away from the villa with plenty more close by. They are all worth a visit, the scenery is breathtaking. We had many wonderful evening meals out in Carvoeiro. Plenty of restaurants to choose from in lovely surroundings and friendly staff. Thanks so much Jackie for all your help and communication, we all had the best holiday & would definitely love to visit again.

Simply lovely

In over ten years of villa holidays in Carvoeiro, this is the best villa we’ve stayed in. Really wish we had found it sooner. Close enough to town to enjoy the restaurants etc, but in a lovely quiet area. The pool and outside areas are larger than we’ve experienced before and the villa is spacious and homely. When we weren’t playing golf we spent most of the holiday by the pool, although local beaches are excellent aswell. The villa is also extremely well managed. Highly recommended

Beautiful Villa in a perfect setting.

We had a fantastic stay at Casa Cristina. The Villa was spotless and we were amazed by the space within. All three bedrooms opened out on to the terrace with access to the pool. Perfect for the kids to change and jump in! The sea view from terrace was the perfect backdrop for an evening bbq. Carvoeiro is within walking distance and the nearest beach is just down the hill! We had an amazing holiday and would love to visit again.

Wonderful Villa

By Ian Davies on 21-Jun-2024

My wife and I have been visiting Carveiro for many years, staying in a variety of villa’s. We spotted this villa on our last visit but due to COVID and other reasons we were unable stay until last week. The villa, the owner and the management staff did not disappoint. The owner has been magnificent with communication. The villa was superb, very clean, everything worked and the view/location amazing. The staff were attentive but unobtrusive. All in all an excellent experience that we will hopefully repeat for many years to come.

Wonderful Villa in Great Location

By Mark Webber on 04-Sep-2023

We have stayed in several villas in Carvoeiro, Casa Cristina is without doubt the best we have stayed in. The villa has all the space you need for a large family, we went as a couple but will not hesitate to come back with our larger family in the future. There is ample equipment and more in the kitchen and living rooms, the bedrooms are all very generously sized, the beds comfortable and the bathrooms great. Outside the pool is large for a private pool and very warm with the heating, the sunbathing area around the pool and terrace above for dining are fantastic and are in the sun all day, there are umbrellas and an awning for cover should you need it. The location although away from the main town is close to a beach and 4 or 5 nice restaurants within walking distance. The benefit of being away from the town is the peace, there is no road noise as you tend to get with villas closer to the town and the surrounding villas are very private and spaced out, it was so peaceful! The town is a casual 30 minute stroll away and only a 5/6 Euro, 2 minute Uber drive back if you didn't fancy the walk. The booking process was easy and the communication from owner Jackie was always good and very quick, we also had some queries whilst at the villa which Jackie sorted in very quick time. In conclusion, we would go back in a heartbeat.
