Cape Verde (or more correctly, Cabo Verde) is a great holiday destination comprising ten islands. It offers fabulous beaches and lovely weather. Each of the islands is different, those in the east (Sal, Boa Vista and Maio) have lovely beaches; those in the west have majestic mountains. Nine of the islands are inhabited and one of the two most popular tourist resorts is Santa Maria on the island of Sal. Santa Maria has a variety of restaurants, bars and shops. The magnificent Santa Maria beach provides 8km of lovely sand and blue sea. Water sports abound, including all kinds of surfing, swimming, jet skiing and diving. If you have not been before, try Cape Verde. Many people become hooked and return time after time. It is only about 6 hours flying time from the UK and much of Europe.
