All good with villa but, local/mountain roads quite a challenge for us though. 09/24/2019 at 5:04 PM
What a stunning property! The views, the pool, the villa itself were all just stunning and we settled in right away. The pictures don’t do it justice and it’s bigger than the description makes out! The kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms all a decent size .with much needed air conditioning (it hit 37c when we were there!) The little town of Árchez is so pretty and a short walk from the villa and we ate in two of the restaurants there and both were fabulous. (The vegan one was our fave ...surprising as we are all carnivores but the food was so tasty) My 9 and 7 year old loved the pool and the WiFi was strong (important for kids nowadays!!) and a short drive to Algarrobo meant we had a great beach and good supermarkets to hand. The market at Algarrobo (Saturday 9-1pm towards the Aldi) was lovely and we cane away with lots of spices and Spanish pottery! Within a short drive from the villa there is torre del mar which we absolutely loved! Sandy beaches and lovely restaurants galore. Nerja is also easily accessible but we were less keen as it was very busy. The shopping centre is brilliant (el ingenio) and nearby and also perfect for a day escaping the sun and hidin gin the air con! The owners were so helpful as was Tony who answered our questions and made check in so easy. Competa is a cute village a few mins drive from the villa and also offered some fab food and little shops. They had a fair there when we were there so it had a lovely atmosphere. The mountain roads are pretty scary driving initially (wrong side of the car and wrong side of the road for us ) and I recommend car sickness medicine for the kids as we had to pull over a couple of times as the roads are so windy but it worth it for the vista the villa offers and the utter tranquility! We would defo come back to stay as it was a very relaxing beak for us all ! Thank you for having us x 08/11/2019 at 9:16 AM
This villa is amazing, would recommend it to anyone, everything you could possibly want or need. The photos don't do it justice and the views are stunning. You need a car if you want to travel away from the villa but the setting is perfect for a quiet, relaxing getaway with lovely local restaurants. Would definitely return. 07/20/2019 at 4:12 PM
We (a family of 4) had a fantastic 3 week break at Casa Buena Vista in July/August with unbroken sunshine and temperatures in the 30s every day. The villa is extremely well presented and equipped. The air conditioned bedrooms were very comfortable and the air conditioning an absolute godsend to counteract the heat of the Spaipnish climate at the height of the summer. The kitchen has everything we needed and we made good use of the charcoal barbecue to take advantage of the fantastic weather and the opportunity for al fresco dining. The WiFi was excellent, both speed and range of signal, and the TV options were great (although we didn’t use it very often). The view from the pool terrace was stunning and we all made use of the pool each day to cool off. We dined under the shade of the sun umbrella each night and enjoyed sitting on the swing seat watching the sun set behind the Andalusian hills opposite the villa whilst enjoying some Cava, or Rioja. We found the drying area at the back of the villa real useful for drying off swimming gear/towels etc each day and the conservatory/sun room was ideal for sheltering from the hottest part of the day. Once you get used to the hairpin bends on the road up to Archez from the motorway (around 25 minute drive), the location is superb, with plenty to do. Both the centre of Archez and Canillas De Albaida are a short stroll from the villa which is ideal for popping out for fresh bread or fresh fruit each day without having to drive. Best to decide whether you want the up hill walk on the way to or from the local store - as that will determine whether you go up the hill to Canillas or down the hill to Archez. Both have plenty of options for eating out - we particularly liked Venta El Curro in Archez - down to the bottom of the hill and across the bridge (you can see it from the terrace of the villa) whilst the Bar Extremena is convenient, with rustic food, large portions but fairly simply presented. The Gelateria in Competa is worth a visit for an ice cream and La Posada in Canillas was good for a lunch in the sun in the square. Besides soaking up the sun and enjoying the pool, the key highlights for us were a visit to the Alhambra at Granada (around an hour and a half drive but make sure to book your tickets in advance), the Cueva de Nerja (also worth booking tickets in advance) and the water park at Torre Del Mar. A fantastic holiday in an excellent villa in a beautiful part of Spain

We arrived at this villa late in the evening in the dark, almost midnight… The key had already been left securely for us by the caretakers of this property. The road to Archez was winding and steep but we found the property with no problem at all thanks to the directions given to us in advance by the owners. Having seen the pictures on the website of the property we knew that it was in a stunning position... however, nothing can prepare you for the amazing views that greeted us upon waking the following morning! The views are completely stunning looking over to the mountains and down the valley in the direction of the sea (not quite a sea view) The villa is lovely and well equipped to cope with your holiday needs and there is a barbecue for alfresco cooking. The fab pool was in constant use and the villa and outside seating area is well maintained by the caretakers who look after the property for the owners. They were also happy to help if any problems arose or information was needed. The villa consists of a large sitting area with kitchen adjacent, a good sized double bedroom, a twin room with ensuite and a sofa bed in another room on the ground floor plus a bathroom. Upstairs is an ensuite double with a balcony with amazing views. All the bedrooms have Aircon as does the living room. The room with the sofa bed has a ceiling fan. At no point did we find the Villa too hot and was very comfortable to stay in with temperatures in the 30s. Within a two minute walk is a local cafe/restaurant called La Extramena which catered for families very well and had a good choice of food . It was open late in the evening so you didn’t have to rush back from your day to go and find somewhere local to eat. We had day trips to Nerja and Frigliana, plus other beaches along the coast. The only thing we would’ve done differently had we realised, was to hire a slightly smaller car than we thought we needed as the roads are mainly very windy mountain roads, (some even have barriers!!) Satnav is definitely worth including in your hire car. Local supermarket in Archez supplied the basics we needed for breakfast (fresh bread, Melon etc) bigger more well stocked one in Competa a short drive away Two cats live in the outbuilding of the villa which we were more than happy with as we have cats ourselves. They are catered for so don’t need feeding and they don’t go in the villa and they just slept mostly! We did not know this area at all so we were really happy to find such a lovely place and discover a new area. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a bit of peace and quiet and some lovely views. Family of 4 - 2 adults, 2 teenagers. Flight from East Midlands to Malaga 2 hours 40. Drive from Malaga to villa approx 45 min. Car hire via Doyouspain website (Record car Hire)
