Overview
Description
You will be charmed as soon as you enter into the walled and gated, private Estate where the Olive Mill nestles. The two new resident Llamas and our nosey rescue donkeys will peer over the wall to greet you!Dating back to 1890, the Olive Mill must have stories to tell. The Wow Factor hits you as soon as you enter the spacious hall with full height beamed ceilings and fabulous tiles. Sleeping up to 14 guests, downstairs are two bedrooms (both en-suite), cosy living room, a farmhouse kitchen and dining room, whereas upstairs (off the mezzanine) are a further 5 bedrooms (all with en-suite bedrooms). Every room has large picture windows which look across the gardens and flood the house with light. Simone has managed to retain all the original floor tiles. doors and windows during the glorious restoration.
The additional living room (great for large groups of friends) sits off the fabulous entrance hall and has huge squashy sofas which surround the original stone fireplace with a roaring fire during winter stays with us. Full height shuttered picture windows flood the home with light. And although the entrance hall is immense, it has been cleverly furnished with seating and dining areas which gives a cosy feel ...the original olive press is still in situ and a huge Buddah watches over you.
All the bedrooms have been lovingly designed with antique iron beds, fluffy duvets and fine thread Egyptian cotton bedding. Pretty throws provide a splash of colour. Occasional antique wardrobes and chests of drawers have been chosen with care to compliment their surroundings. Every bedroom has shuttered windows with views across the private swimming pool and surrounding gardens.
Each of the bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom. One of the downstairs bathrooms has a grab rail for guests who may struggle a little with mobility. Fluffy house towels, robes and organic toiletries are provided. Pool towels are also provided.
There is a large private pool surrounded by pretty sun loungers. There are even a couple of the original changing rooms for guests to use. The wood fired Hot Tub is a treat during Spring and Autumn stays with us.
The Olive Mill nestles in its own forest surrounded by oak, chestnut and poplar trees in the Sierra de Aracena Natural Park in an extraordinarily beautiful landscape. You will feel very peaceful here with the only sound being that of birdsong - there are over 130 different species of birds in this area. There are plenty of eating areas dotted around the gardens where you can eat al-fresco. Deer will come to drink from one of the streams. You are only minutes away from the pretty town of Higuera de la Sierra with it's choice of restaurants and tapas bars.
Feel free to pick a lemon for your gin and tonic! You can jump into the pool, join a mushroom hunting tour, make friends with the rescue donkeys, or just enjoy the solitude and fabulous surroundings which are all just for your private enjoyment. Let us spoil you. A true Midsummer Nights Dream.

Leave ReviewI felt relaxed and energised
By Lis-Marie on 22-Apr-2025After my 6 days here I feel like we are one of a family. It has been so much fun and easy going. I feel relaxed and energised all at the same time. I would recommend to all who need to wind down and get away from the stresses of everyday life and to find wellbeing again.
An amazing Week
By Julian Gore-Booth on 22-Apr-2025Spent an amazing week at the recently restored Olive Mill. Ideal for anyone looking for the perfect way to unwind and take care of mind, body and soul. Beautiful natural surroundings, walks, views, food… heavenly.
The house is simply gorgeous
By Peter James on 15-Apr-2025I have just spent a week with a group of friends at the newly converted Olive Mill in Southern Spain. The house is simply gorgeous and beautifully furnished with stunning bedrooms and bathrooms (the complimentary toiletries are amazing). You are in your own forest surrounded by nature and animals - the donkeys are just so friendly! But...you can walk to a restaurant....swim in the pool...luxuriate in the hot tub.....A little corner of paradise!
Perfect Light Filled Home
By Sawday's Inspector on 30-Sep-2024Dating back to 1890, The Olive Mill is located within Huelva's Sierra de Aracena Natural Reserve. This handsome, light-filled home has been wonderfully restored with the original olive press still in situ in the main hall. Jump into the pool, join a mushroom hunting tour, make friends with the donkeys, or just enjoy the solitude and fabulous surroundings. I would return in a heartbeat.
