Description

This spacious, cool tiled villa is situated on the edge of a well-established urbanisation called Monte Judeu. The villa has air conditioning and a heated pool as well as a large mature garden encircling the villa. The villa is on a sloping site overlooking a valley with beautiful views over the countryside and beyond to the Monchique hills. The Penina golf courses are about a 5-minute drive and the lovely sandy beaches of Alvor are a further 10 minutes away. There are several restaurants in the immediate vicinity and lots more, plus markets, shops and nightlife at Portimão, Alvor and Praia da Rocha, which are all within a 20-minute drive. For those wanting to keep away from the resorts there is a back road that leads to Figueira and Mexilhoeira Grande where a good small general store, a chemist, post-office and a bank can be found.

The villa is comfortably and tastefully furnished, it is clean and uncluttered but with everything you should need for an enjoyable family holiday. The garage below is now a games room with a table tennis table, darts board and some exercise equipment.

ACCOMMODATION is for 8 + 1 extra in the child's room at extra cost (Tourist licence 13144/AL)

The front door opens into a tiled hallway on the right of which is a small double bedroom. (There is a cloak room with loo from the sitting room, but this bedroom will have to share a bathroom) Ahead, around a corner opens the large sitting/dining room. The sitting room has a log-burning stove and comfortable seating and a very large TV with a selection of Dutch Astra, Portuguese MEO and UK BBC and ITV. To the left, through a wide archway, the dining area has a table and chairs and sliding glass doors out onto the part-covered terrace. This terrace has a built-in barbecue, as well as a gas barbecue, a fitted sink, a wooden dining table and chairs for outside meals. Alongside, on this terrace is a comfortable sitting area from which are splendid views across the swimming pool and onto the hills in the distance. There is a metal gate on this terrace to prevent small children from going down the external stairs that lead to the pool.
Back in the living room, an archway opens into the fitted kitchen, equipped with a large fridge freezer, a large cooker with 2 electric hot plates, 4 gas rings and a large gas oven, a microwave and a dishwasher; a filter coffee maker and a Nespresso coffee machine using capsules. There is a table and seating in the kitchen for family meals.
To the right of the sitting room is another hallway and a door out to the garden on the poolside of the villa. To the left of this hall is the main double bedroom with a double bed and shower room en suite. To the right, first, there is a twin bedroom, a good-sized room with French doors to a small terrace and with a shower room en suite. Then another big bedroom with three single beds and a bathroom en suite (with tub). All the bedrooms have wooden block floors and fitted cupboards.

On the lower level beneath the villa is an outside loo and a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer. There is a clothes-drying area. The garage/ games room is also on this lower level and has a table tennis table and darts board, and even some gym equipment. The garage is not used for cars as there is plenty of private parking space within the fenced and gated property.

On the far side of the villa paths lead to the pebbled, kidney-shaped swimming pool. (About 12 x 5m). It is heated by a heat exchange unit and covered (see below for details). The pool is sheltered on one side by a high wall and there are sun beds for 8 people. Beyond the pool is a shady barbecue area, with a tiled/wooden roof, table and stools and another built-in barbecue. The total property is 7,000m², but not all of this is cultivated. The garden is full of interesting plants and shrubs and an orchard with various fruit trees.

Perfect location!

By Helene Gore on 09-Aug-2023

We recently stayed at Vale da Montanha for an extended family holiday celebration, the villa is immaculately presented and exceptionally clean. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you would need for entertaining both inside and outside. The pool and outside areas were fantastic with a downstairs basement with a table tennis table and small work out area - also with a small toilet making it convenient when using the pool. The grounds are very well maintained and thoughtfully designed. Highly recommend!

Amazing property in quite surroundings

By Inge & Justin on 25-Apr-2023

We have really enjoyed our stay at Vale da Montanha! This villa is more than just a house with a pool. It is equipped with all the things you can imagine and more. The pool was exactly at the right temperature, which the kids enjoyed heavily next to all the games that are available (table tennis, darts, etc.) The garden is immense and kept in perfect condition, great for an evening stroll overlooking the vineyards and fruit trees in the valley. The 3 bedrooms with adjacent bathrooms have very good beds! We have not encountered any villa in Portugal having such great mattrasses. The kitchen is equipped with all you need for dinner parties with multiple guests. The villa is built on a mountain slope, so lots of heigt differences outside, so for those who have some mobility challenges, it may not be a very convenient place. Inside the house, everything you need is on the same floor. Other than that, it was an amazing stay and we would love to come back!

Home from home luxury villa

By Laura Burgon on 30-Oct-2019

We stayed at Vale de Montana with our 9 & 10 year old children during the first week of November. Without a doubt, it is the most well equipped, beautifully furnished house we’ve ever stayed in. Top of our list was a heated pool, and the pool did not disappoint, lovely and warm all day long. The beds were amazing; comfortable, clean and gave us all a good night’s sleep. The house is spacious so even with 7 staying you wouldn’t feel on top of each other. Four dining areas, both inside and out, give you lots of options according to the weather. British TV channels are a bonus, as is the extra TV room. You must have a car as Portimao (& Alvor beaches) are a 10 minute drive away but it has a large commercial district for shopping and the town itself is very nice with a traditional Portuguese feel. We would highly recommend this house and hope we can stay again soon. The Burgons from Preston, Lancashire.
