Description

Secluded, accessed off a small lane and with only a few neighbouring villas, Lemon Tree House is situated high on the hillside above Kerasia beach in the exclusive North-East of Corfu. It has, dare we say it, almost unrivalled views. The panorama takes in the shores of Albania & mainland Greece and in the foreground gentle slopes of olive grove culminate in the crystal Mediterranean. The infinity pool is perfectly positioned to take advantage of this beautiful vista. Rattan sofas and a stone built seating area with 'chunky' wooden table, combined with Lemon Tree's wide, covered balcony at first floor level, provide ample alfresco opportunities. Our own little olive grove stretches down the slope to the fore and the garden abounds with lemon, orange and fig trees. Ideally located close to the exclusive bays of Agios Stefanos and Kerasia (a 12 minute drive) and a few minutes walk to Yannis' wonderful local store.

Lemon Tree House' accommodation includes, at first floor level, a bright comfortable lounge with dining area and separate kitchen/utility room. The lounge opens onto a wide, covered balcony perfect for outdoor dining or relaxing in a rattan chair drinking in the view. On the ground floor you find the master bedroom (3 .00 x 3.8m) with en suite and two compact twin bedrooms (2.67 x 3.00m and 2.00 x 4.7m) plus family bathroom with bath and shower. Air conditioning and mosquito nets are in all the bedrooms. We provide a 'freshen up' cleaning service mid one week stay and a linen change and full housekeeping service midway through a two week stay. Bath towels are also provided.

The lovely infinity pool is 9 x 4.5 metres with 4 built in steps, a shallow end of 1.00 metre and deep end of 1.7 metres. Our annexe situated nearby is for our exclusive use and will not be occupied during your stay.

Lemon Tree House is only 3 kms from the lovely harbour side village of Agios Stefanos. With its waterfront tavernas and jetties set in a horse shoe shaped bay, it's a delightful place to have a leisurely meal or a drink in one of the two cocktail bars. Hiring a boat in Agios Stefanos is highly recommended - the best way to explore the area's beautiful beaches & coves. It is possible to walk to the harbour through the olive grove (down a steep wooded track) which takes approximately 40 minutes or it's about 8 minutes in the car.

The nearest beach to Lemon Tree is Kerasia. A 15 minute walk downhill brings you to this lovely white pebbled beach with its popular taverna (allow at least double the time to come back up though!) or a 12 minute journey by road. Avlaki beach (3 kms) is another delightful bay retaining its tranquillity yet offering a couple of beachside tavernas.

For those wanting a more lively time, Kassiopi with it’s tavernas, bars and gift shops is only a short drive and if time allows we also urge you to journey to Corfu town. It has a unique charm - pastel hued buildings full of character and the Parisien Rue de Rivoli inspired 'Liston' with its colonnades and cafes is a must. Cobbled streets and alleys, St Spiridon's church, fortresses, shops and bars - it's a vibrant, cosmopolitan town and we love it!

Closer to home and a few minutes walk down the lane will take you to Sinies, our small hamlet which boasts 'Yannis' a truly excellent small supermarket, a local bar, lovely little bakery/patisserie for those morning croissants and a fishmonger. We would however highly recommend car hire for accessibility reasons.

It's approximately a 50 minute drive from Corfu airport to Lemon Tree House.

Amazing place to stay, stunning

By Nicola Walker on 14-Aug-2024

We loved everything about our stay at Lemon Tree. The photos do not do it justice. The most amazing view, beautifully finished, homely, clean and a thoughtful welcome bundle. Perfect position, quiet, yet able to get to places easily and you can walk to the local supermarket and coffee shop. Tess was wonderful throughout, great communication and very helpful. We loved it so much and we will be booking again.

Wonderful holiday

By The Hirst family on 19-Jul-2024

We have visited north eastern Corfu for a dozen times over 35 years. We have had the most wonderful holiday at Lemon Tree House which is without doubt the loveliest villa we have stayed in throughout our many visits to the area. The location is perfect and we really loved the many outside living areas and fantastic pool which we all made full use of. The local supermarket, bakery and cafe are all in easy walking distance. The views from the villa are stunning. Everything has been thought of in the villa to make a stay there so comfortable and easy.

A really special place to stay

By Liz on 12-Jul-2024

We had a wonderful week at Lemon Tree. The view is spectacular from the pool and the balcony. The house is well set up and very comfortable. Great for al fresco dining and living . Easy walk to village for supplies and cakes! Early morning walk and swim with hike back up the hill from Kerasia was a good challenge but it was a short drive ( avoiding the walking path ) to either Kerasia or Avlaki for late afternoon and evening swims. Great choice for tavernas within easy driving distance. boat hire worthwhile if you can . It was extremely hot in July but we made good use of siesta time in the cool house and did our excursions morning and evening. We were family with 18 and 16year olds and it was perfect for us. Nb Lots of steps at the property and a short hill to village kept us active .

What a View!

Lemon Tree House is a very special place to unwind and relax. We had a fabulous time with our children and their partners. The infinity pool is wonderful, soaking in the panoramic view and the barbecue area is a great facility. The large balcony provides a superb venue for breakfast and family meals with stunning views. You don’t have to go very far to find a lovely beach, totally unspoiled and will definitely look to return for a 3rd visit!

Perfect

Spent 2 weeks at Lemon Tree with our 2 teenage daughters. The view from the Villa is simply stunning and the location is superb - slap bang in the middle of the north east corner of Corfu. Perfect for trips to the many local beaches and then heading back for a swim and drink while spying on the super yachts moored up in the bay! As well as the local mini market run by Yannis there is also a bakery / coffee shop and fishmongers - all within walking distance.

Wonderful stay

This was our second time staying in Tess’s lovely villa. For us it is perfect, we have stayed as a family of four and it has all the space we need. It is furnished well and has a wonderful family feel with lots of personal touches added by Tess. Whilst we didn’t use any of the board games or DVD’s I did make use of the bookshelf for poolside reading. The view from the infinity pool is difficult to beat,, with the bonus that it gets the sun all day. My happy place is to stand by the wall in the pool, with a drink in hand, watching the boats come and go in the bay below. The bedrooms are comfortable, particularly the main bedroom with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The twin bedrooms are smaller but still contain thoughtful touches. The Villa is a five minute walk from a lovely bakery from which we got our morning croissants; sometimes we would eat them there with a cup of coffee or we would take them back to the Villa to have on the balcony enjoying the magnificent view. Next door to the bakery is Yannis supermarket which is well stocked with everyday essentials (including fever tree tonic and an excellent wine selection!). We have tried many of the beaches nearby, all pebble beaches with the clearest of blue water, we also always hire a boat to explore the coastline by sea. I think a car a necessity for this Villa, the beaches are around a 10 minute drive away and so many excellent restaurants- literally something for every taste and budget. Thank you, Tess for sharing your piece of paradise with us, we have already rebooked and are looking forward to our next stay.
