Description

Chalet Pascal is a spacious (150m2) well equipped self-catered chalet in Linga, Chatel, Haute Savoie, France.

ABOUT THE CHALET:
On entering the chalet through the garage (which is the way most people enter!) there are storage racks for skis and in the far corner the ski boot room has 10 lovely boot warmers. This room also has a heater so any damp ski kit left overnight should be dry by the morning.

Off the garage is the door to the chalet and the 4th bedroom (bunk room - ideally suited for children) and a bathroom with shower. From here the stairs lead up to the sitting room, kitchen and dinning area and the "front" door. This floor is open plan and has enough comfortable seating for everyone, a large dinning room table and a well equipped kitchen. There is a plenty of cooking equipment for 10 people. The large sliding doors open onto the balcony with wonderful views of the Linga slopes.

The "front" door leads out to a large sunny terrace at the rear and the steps down to the front of the chalet, driveway and outside parking. The terrace faces west and there is a large table, chairs, sun umbrella and BBQ. In the summer it is lovely to sit outside while the sun is setting overlooking the national park.

The stairs from the living area take you to the second floor where there are 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms two of which are ensuite. The master bedroom looks out over the the forest to the rear of the property and the other two bedrooms face the Linga slopes.

(There is a plan of the layout of Chalet Pascal in the photo gallery.)

Please note that the rental prices are in EUROS - any other currency on this website is for guidance only. The price quoted is for 8 people but the chalet can accommodate up to 10 (max 6 adults 4 children) at an additional cost of €195 pppw. Week commencing dates are shown on the pricing table.

The rental price includes cleaning and linen. The standard rental is for 7 nights (Saturday to Saturday) but we would be happy to rent the chalet out for shorter or longer periods depending on availability. We'd love to hear from you.

Chalet Pascal is 90 minutes from Geneva. The main lifts at Linga are a 3-5 minute walk (approx 300m) and give you easy access to the Portes du Soleil ski area, which with 650km of piste, incorporates 14 resorts including Chatel, Avoriaz and Morzine.

Please note that the chalet is not suitable for mountain bikers as we don't have the facilities for washing bikes and lots of mud!

OUTSIDE:
There are two large balconies which face east enjoying the morning sunshine and overlook the slopes at Linga. There is a decked terrace at the rear (with table, chairs, umbrella and BBQ) and has views of the national park and gets the evening sun. The chalet also has an internal garage and there is plenty of parking in the driveway outside the chalet.

DISTANCES FROM THE CHALET:
The chalet is in Linga (Chatel) where there are a range of ski hire shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance. The large supermarket is about 2 miles away.

The centre of Chatel is a 3 minute drive (or there is a bus) where there is a larger selection of shops, restaurants, supermarkets and banks etc.

As with all roads in the Alps their condition varies according to the weather and at certain times you may need winter tyres and/or chains to get up to the chalet.

TRAVEL:
The chalet is 90 mins from Geneva airport where there are numerous car hire companies. Transfer companies will take you to the door of the chalet. There is also a train from Geneva airport directly to Aigle (south east of Lake Geneva). Aigle is about a 30 mins drive from the chalet. The chalet is approximately 45mins from Lake Geneva.

IN THE WINTER:
In addition to alpine skiing, there are several other activities including: Nordic skiing, snow shoe walking, husky sledging rides and natural hot spring baths at Val d'illez.

CHATEL IN THE SUMMER:
It is easy to hire bikes - we have even managed to find a shop that rents out bikes with batteries! The mountain lifts are open which allows easy access to some of the more picturesque areas and there are lots of lovely walking trails.
Please note that the chalet is not suitable for dedicated mountain bikers as we don't have the facilities for washing bikes and lots of mud!

Chatel is only about 45 mins from Lake Geneva and there is a championship golf course at Evian. There is a hot springs pool at Val d’Illez, rafting on the River Dranse, horse-riding, tennis and if you enjoy a thrill you can always try the Fantasticable at Plane Dranse!

We have an in-resort manager who will help with any questions you have during your stay. He can also organise ski hire, ski passes, babysitting etc.

RENTAL PRICES
The prices shown are in EUROS for up to 8 people in four bedrooms including a final clean and linen - additional guests are charged at €195 per person per week. The chalet can accommodate up to 10 people (max 6 adults and 4 children).

For certain weeks we are happy to take bookings for a minimum of 5 nights - depends on availability.

To secure your ski season booking we require a deposit of £700 and the return of a completed booking form. This money will be retained as a security deposit against damages and returned at the end of your stay. Provisional bookings will be held for 7 days only, after which time we reserve the right to sell your proposed holiday week to another client.
The full rent including *Taxe Sejour (in Euros) should be deposited in our French bank account by bank transfer at least eight weeks before commencement of the rental period. Euro cheques may incur an additional charge.
(*Because of French local government law we now have to charge a Taxe Sejour in addition to the rent. This is calculated at €1.50 per adult per night)

Changeover Day:
This is usually Saturday if taking the chalet for 7 nights - the chalet will be ready for guests from 4pm and on departure day guests are required to vacate by 10am.

All in all, this is a lovely chalet in a great location. Would thoroughly recommend!

By Helen Leaver on 15-Feb-2025

We had a really great holiday at Chalet Pascal. We were two families with teenage children and the amount of space we had was fabulous. To have four bedrooms and four bathrooms (and additional toilet) made for a very comfortable and easy holiday, with options to have showers or baths with plenty of hot water. The chalet is in a really quiet location and the beds were very comfortable so we all slept very well! It was also lovely to have the beds made up on arrival after a long journey. The living space of the chalet is very spacious with a very well equipped kitchen, large dining table and plenty of comfortable seating. We all enjoyed relaxing in the evenings which very much added to the holiday. The chalet is very homely with lovely decor and plenty of board games, dvds and books. Sally had left a folder of recipes and we enjoyed doing our first home-cooked fondue in the chalet. There was parking for two vehicles directly outside the chalet and plenty of space in the garage / boot room for storing equipment which was also very convenient and made the getting out onto the slopes easier in the mornings. The chalet is well located with a short walk to the Linga lift and the bus stop to Pre-La-Joux or centre of Chatel. Having stayed in Chatel itself before we found Linga to be a better location for accessing the ski area (and for not having to get the link back to Chatel at the end of the day). We enjoyed popping to the boulangerie and bought cheese and jam from the farm just below the chalet. Going along to the supermarket in the car was very easy and just over 5 minutes drive. The communication with Sally and also Andy (the local chalet manager) was excellent. All the information on directions, arrival details was sent in plenty of time and both Sally and Andy responded quickly to a couple of queries I had. We also took up their recommendations of using SkiHire2U which worked really well. It was fantastic to have equipment delivered to us and picked up at the end of the week - a real treat and we were all happy with the quality of the equipment provided. All in all, this is a lovely chalet in a great location. We hope to stay again next season and would throroughly recommend it!

A nice stay in Chalet Pascal

By Eric Jansen on 29-Dec-2018

Eric Jansen (Netherlands) (with the help of Google Translate - original below) In the Christmas holidays we sat a week in Chalet Pascal. Super chalet! Emails with the owner. Good information and help (ski-rental and lift passes) on the spot. The chalet is equipped with all comforts. For the first time that nothing was missing! Kitchen is well equipped with plenty of kitchen utensils. The garage and the ski boot dryer are also very pleasant. To the ski lift is a 3-minute walk away. A must!

Superb Chalet!

By Gordon on 08-Feb-2018

This was our fifth stay in Chalet Pascal, which says something in itself! The chalet is very comfortable and cosy with everything you need for a great holiday. It has always been clean, tidy and well maintained so that that you can relax and enjoy as soon as you arrive. We have driven from the UK so having the garage to put the car in is a boon, no clearing snow off if you need to use it! Not that we do very often as the location is so close to the Linga telecabine that you can walk down and get skiing without the need to drive or get the bus. There are a couple of restaurants within a short walk and the bus service up into the village centre is frequent, and the walk back down only takes 20 minutes so the chalet is very well located. All in all Chalet Pascal is great and highly recommended! Date of Stay: January 2018

Fantastic, cosy chalet & excellent location

By Anna D. UK on 29-Apr-2017

We had a brilliant stay. It's a spacious but cosy chalet, the perfect place to relax after a day on the slopes. Well-equipped kitchen, comfy beds and sofas and good bathrooms with plenty of hot water - important when you're a group of adults!! Great location - just a few mins walk over the road to the lift and onto the slopes, and close to restaurants, bars etc. The views from the chalet are gorgeous and we loved the area for skiing. Really good for all abilities. We loved the chalet - and area - so much we are coming back in the summer with our three children. Date of Stay: March 2017

Top!

By Myriam B. FR on 17-Feb-2017

Magnifique chalet.
