The shower room is high standard.

There is a large farmhouse kitchen / dining room and lovely lounge with French doors which open onto the superb veranda where you can wine, dine and enjoy fabulous views of the valley and the mountains and the beautiful pool (kidney shape 10 m x 5 m) open around 15 May until end September (early October if requested) from which there are more breath-taking views. The nearest restaurant (excellent food and ambiance) is 2.3 km from the house. There are about 20 restaurants within a 15 minute drive.

The local village is 8 - 10 minutes away. There are two general stores, two bars, newsagent, pharmacy, post office, ATM, bakery, hairdresser, and laundry.
The local town of Fossombrone has everything, plus about 15 restaurants. The Blue Flag beaches of Fano are 30 minutes away by car. Fano has 140+ restaurants !

All rooms in the house have great character and all have restored beams. In the lounge there is a Satellite TV , also DVD / VCR/ FM system and a movie library of about 250 classic and top rated films. There are many board games etc. There is a superb new professional table tennis table in the large covered portico - so you can play all day, in all weather. There is a boxed set of Boules by Jaques of London. And don't forget the beautiful pool ! We have a stone barbecue with a unique charcoal burning system which allows you to cook within 10 minutes of lighting. It really is simple to light and very efficient for cooking at different height levels. We have a one acre garden which is surrounded by our 7 acre field, normally planted with corn. It is located in a spectacular rural position but close to our local village and to the towns of Fossombrone, Urbino and Fano.

We do not have a telephone line at Casa Rosa, and therefore don’t have 'full' WiFi. Many of our guests enjoy having a digital detox but there is MiFi (mobile WiFi) available, providing up to 1GB of complimentary access . This will provide access for low level usage, although may not be sufficient for streaming. Personal devices pick up mobile signal independently. There are numerous local WiFi spots available in our nearest town (Fossombrone) and one at the bar in our nearby village (Isola di Fano).

This Province of Pesaro-Urbino has masses of culture, superb countryside and lots of places to visit and things to do for children.
Fano - for great Blue Flag beaches in a beautiful town go to Fano . It is only 30 minutes by car. Fano is gorgeous, part Roman and Renaissance , rich in art and architecture. There are many lovely shops, bars, about 140 restaurants, several beautiful squares, big street market every Wednesday and Saturday and a superb fish market every day. This is a busy fishing port with a huge modern marina. The beach areas are particularly appealing to children because there is everything there for them to do. There can be no better place to eat ice cream than in Fano, which has so many ice cream bars! A very elegant town, with restaurants everywhere - you will undoubtedly fall in love with Fano -so will the children.
Caves of Frasassi - Our visitors’ No 1 place of interest, including its popularity with children. A stupendous cave system with multi-lingual guides to escort you along its many well constructed pathways which lead through the incredible caverns. Urbino -The Renaissance jewel, equal in importance to Florence at that time. This is the home town of Rafael (you can visit his house) and the Court of Duke Federico da Montefeltro. A beautiful town and architectural gem - a 'must do' for lovers of culture! Aquafan (near Rimini) - a fantastic water fun-park for all ages - voted 'tops' by families with children, but also fun for adults. Walking - immediately you leave the house you have a choice of lovely walks with spectacular scenery.
Eating out - This is a truly gastronomic Province with so many good places to eat that you are forever spoilt for choice! There are about 20 restaurants within a 15 minute drive. The nearest restaurant (excellent pasta and meats) is 2.3 km away. Fano has 140+ restaurants! Roast meats and home-made pasta are a speciality of this Province, and because there are a number of commercial fishing ports on the Adriatic coast, including in particular Fano, there are many restaurants specialising in fish, serving the most wonderful dishes (grilled, fried, baked, risotto, pasta). This area is renowned for its Brodetto (fish soup). In Fano and surrounding towns and villages (including our local area) the annual International Brodetto & Fish Soup festival is held from 12 September to 12 October. Excellent places for pasta and pizza are to be found everywhere so you can eat well without spending a lot and all within easy reach by car! All restaurants welcome children and make a special effort to ensure that their needs are looked after. For those who love to eat truffles, this is THE area, because nearby Acqualagna is the truffle centre of Italy. There is a White Truffle Festival in October / November every year when many Italian and International gourmets attend this important gastronomic event. There are cookery demonstrations by top chefs and you can buy produce from all over the Le Marche Region. There is also a special marquee where Sommeliers advise you of the best wines to taste. Best known Le Marche wines: Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico and the superb Lacrima di Morro D'Alba (the vineyard is located to the north of Ancona). Other wines from the Region are Rosso Conero, Sangiovese, Bianchello del Metauro. There are vineyards all over this beautiful Region, many of which are within a 30 minute drive and open to the public and where you can buy their wines. There are two vineyards within a 10 minute drive of the farmhouse. You can also buy Extra Virgin Olive Oil from the many local producers.

EXTRACT FROM THE COMPLETE BOOK OF ITALIAN COOKING (PARROGAN PRESS): "Eastwards to the Le Marche Region the food tends to be more elaborate with almost every restaurant noted for its excellent cuisine. The wealth of fish from the coast adds to the variety as do first class sausages and cured pork. Pasta features widely all over the region".

Bird life is amazing, with Redstarts, Warblers, Red backed shrike, Green woodpeckers and Golden Orioles, also jays and buzzards. There are binoculars and a tripod to view all these from the veranda and reference books of birds in Europe. In the Gola del Furlo (about 30 minutes away by car) you can see Golden Eagles and many other bird species.

RENTAL PRICES PER WEEK : Spring and Autumn £950 to £1200. High Season £1475. PLEASE NOTE THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO SURPRISE CHARGES.
Bedroom 3 is available as an optional extra . There there is a maximum limit of 6 guests at the house.

Summer holiday

Wonderful memory

By Nadine on 08-Jul-2023

We are a family of four. We saw this property on simply owners and we loved all that we read about it. The owners were very friendly in their communications (we actually spoke on the phone, not just by email). They had plenty of suggestions for places to visit and places to eat (as this was our first time visiting that particular part of Italy). Even though there was an unexpected heat wave, we still had a lovely time. The pool was cool and refreshing and the gardener came regularly to check it and maintain it. The peaceful surroundings were just what we were looking for. Everything was as described, the owners are very thorough with providing every possible detail anyone might require. We look forward to another visit and stay at the property in the near future as we feel there is still so much we would like to see, do and experience in that part of Italy. Thank you Sheila and Mike for sharing your holiday home with us.

A fantastic location with breath taking views

By Lucy Purves on 30-Jul-2022

We had a wonderful holiday at Casa Rosa. The view from the terrace and pool is stunning with mountains in one direction and the coast in the other. We had some wonderful sunsets during our stay and never tired of looking out at the view, even the children noticed how beautiful it was! The house is in a great location tucked away but only 30 minutes from the beach at Fano. There are lots of beautiful hilltop villages nearby and Urbino is easily visited. The owners communication is great, if you have any queries or problems they are very quick to respond. We hope to come back to Casa Rosa soon.

A little patch of Paradise

By Jonathan Glover on 27-Jul-2019

We arrived just ahead of a scarily powerful thunderstorm, and spent our first night listening to the rain crashing onto the tiles and counting the split seconds from lightning flash to thunder's roar . . . . Come the morning it seemed the sun had had enough and took back control, welcoming us to the sheer delight that is Casa Rosa on a hot July day. We started off intending to visit all the local places of interest, but as each day passed we slipped into endless patterns of indulgent indolence broken only by yet another swim. Mea culpa. We have no stories of wonderful meals taken in picturesque restaurants or trips to fabulous Urbino that thrilled our peasant souls, nor any useful tips for shopping in local markets for hidden bargains. Mark you, we did buy a pretty summer frock, a scrap of white and dazzling grey cotton, from an entrepreneurial oriental couple in the market in Fossombrone - not sure if that counts? We came for sunshine, silence and stillness all for ourselves in the stunning setting of this little patch of Paradise - and kept smiling!

Wonderful and Peaceful

By Keith on 13-Jul-2019

We’ve just returned from this lovely house. We wanted peace and isolation and we got it here. We love visiting small quiet villages and exploring larger towns without driving all day and we got it here. Our daily exercise from the ping pong or swimming, our relaxation on the terrace or by the pool, entertainment from the extensive video library, the notes and encouragement for the surrounding attractions and restaurants all contributed us to, for the first time ever, rebook for next year. And the owners have been very helpful to ensure we knew the best way to get the most out of our stay.

Excellent Old Farmhouse with Stunning Views

By CH on 21-Oct-2016

A beautifully maintained and appointed property. The views were an absolute delight. Lovely pool which we used every day, even in October! Very well equipped kitchen that was put to use with new Italian inspiration. An ideal location away from it all. Highly recommended. Review Submitted: Oct 21, 2016
