Description

Please note that we are not accepting any bookings for dates before Easter 2024, and we DO NOT accept dogs.

Millbeck is a converted barn on the edge of a small village, opposite the village green, with views over beautiful Wensleydale in the centre of the National Park. There are a number of established walking routes from the cottage and the village, and is ideal for touring the National Park. Local attractions include the Wensleydale Railway, the Wensleydale Creamery and Dales museum in Hawes. The famous Aysgarth Falls are nearby. There is a wide choice of pubs, restaurants and tea shops, as well as takeaways, in the area.

Thornton Rust is close to the 2014 Tour de France route, and Mill Beck provides secure storage for cycles in the attached garage. The area has always been popular with cyclists, even more so after the Tour.

Rather surprisingly for a small village we now have cable internet at the cottage which is available to guests.

Mill Beck is an old building, but has all the benefits of a modern house, with double glazing, central heating and proper insulation which was installed as part of the conversion which had to meet modern building regulations. There is a log fire as well as full central heating.

There is a travel cot and high chair available.

Mill Beck is a non smoking property, and we do not accept dogs or other pets at the house. The minimum rental period is 7 nights but changeover days can be flexible.

Away from it all

A very comfortable, well equipped cottage in a peaceful hamlet in glorious Wensleydale. We lacked for nothing in the wetter as well as the warmer, sunnier days. Thank you Sue and Steve for the use of your lovely cottage - and for the welcome wine and greetings on arrival.

This is the second time we have stayed at Millbeck which pretty much says it all!! Very well appointed property with everything you could need, spacious yet cosy, in a beautiful quiet sales village. Sue and Steve have thought of everything, even a complimentary bottle of wine to welcome you. Highly recommend. Hope to be back soon!

A relaxing and comfortable stay in the Dales

By Lisa G. on 03-Jun-2019

We are a family of six and we enjoyed a weeks holiday in Thornton Rust. We found the house to be comfortable, very well equipped and a real home-from-home. The owner had left us a bottle of wine and a card upon arrival which was lovely after such a long drive. We found there was really everything we needed; from tin foil and soap to plasters. This for us really made the difference! The accommodation was spacious, bigger than I had expected with a fab shower, WiFi and comfy beds. The patio and utilities in the garage are an added bonus. Unfortunately the weather was not our friend but we still got out and about. This is a great location for visiting nearby waterfalls and exploring the dales. We took some walks around the village and the owner of the cottage was very helpful with telling us ideas for routes. We absolutely loved our holiday and would recommend staying here.
