Lovely bungalow, great location.

By Holly on 10-Oct-2024

Our initial feelings on arriving were mixed. The bungalow was as expected, and just as the photos provided, but we have never seen so many spiders. Even one of the wardrobes had at least 4. Once they were all evicted, we started to relax and enjoy the space. For us it was the perfect layout. And having one bedroom off the lounge meant that when my health got the better of me, I still felt included. Ours sons could have their own space upstairs, including their own bathroom. Having an ensuite and family bathroom downstairs was great too. Beds all comfy. The owners were lovely, great communication and very helpful when we had a Wifi issue (Provider issue, not owners) and failed to find the 'on' button on one of the TV's (Our fault) Being able to open the bi-fold doors was much appreciated as we had some very hot days whilst staying. There were however a few small things, which did not impact on our stay at all, but did let the lovely bungalow down. We would definitely return (If they'll have us back!) Your response: "Hello Holly, thank you very much for taking the time to leave your review and we are so sorry that you had the problem with spiders on arrival. We have never had that problem before and thank you for raising it in the review, it may have been the time of year/weather conditions which caused the problem combined with a period of non-occupation before your stay. Thank you for evicting the spiders, we have noted the issue for the future and will ask the cleaners to check the wardrobes although, unfortunately, spiders can come in at anytime especially in the autumn. We are really glad that you enjoyed your stay otherwise and that we were able to resolve the TV problem and that the internet outage was not for too long. We will get in touch with you about the "few small things" which you felt let the accommodation down, to see if we can resolve them for the future, we are glad that they did not impact on your stay though. Finally, yes of course we would be very happy to welcome you back in the future. Kind regards, Sheryl."

The whole family had a wonderful relaxing time. Thank you Sheryl and Terry, you have a wonderful home.

Bay Reach is laid out very well, for family get togethers. What a lovely garden for the grand children to run around and play. Very well equipped with garden furniture and cushions. Bay Reach is in easy walking distance of the beach and Sandown so most days we were able to leave the car. It also is nice to see a place that states two car parking spaces actually fits two cars! Not always the case in my experience. Your response: "Thank you very much for taking the time to leave your lovely review. We are really glad that you enjoyed your holiday in Yaverland and the grand children enjoyed the garden. We hope that we are able to welcome you back to stay in the future. Kind regards, Sheryl."

So good we came back for more!

By David B on 25-Aug-2024

This is everything you'd want it to be (and probably more). Spacious, clean, well-equipped, 3 bathrooms with seemingly endless hot water, off-road parking (2 cars), great views, enclosed garden with room for kids to run around, patio set & BBQ, distant sounds of the sea and roaring lions(!)... And the location! 5 minutes from Yaverland beach, which is beautiful and sandy, with great views along the coast, a little cafe (also ice creams) and toilets. If you want something a bit more strenuous than a day on the beach, you can easily walk into Sandown, or (highly recommended) go the other way up the coast path to Culver Down, Bembridge fort, the Yarborough Monument and the Culver Haven pub. Also in easy walking distance are the Wildlife Sanctuary (zoo), golf, dinosaur centre, a dinosaur themed activity park and a beachside bar. Plenty to do without moving the car - brilliant if you've had to drive all day to get there. We've done a lot of self-catered holidays, but this is by far the best. Your response: "Thank you David for your informative review. We are really glad you enjoyed your stay. The Isle of Wight is special and we love the house. You are always welcome if you wish to make a return visit."

A well equipped, spacious accommodation!

By Amanda on 25-Aug-2024

A very nice, spacious home. Excellent location, with just short stroll to the beach. We had a very enjoyable stay here. The house is fully equipped with everything you need. We even heard the lions in the mornings & evenings. Overall a great place to stay whilst exploring the island. We would definitely look to stay again "Thank you Amanda we are really glad you enjoyed your stay and that you enjoyed hearing the lions! We would love to welcome you back some time."

Really lovely house and the location is amazing. The format really worked for us and had everything we needed. Location was amazing and could hear the lions roar from the garden. Amazing!!! Your response: "Thank you for your lovely review. We are really pleased you enjoyed your stay. We hope to welcome you again some time if you return to the Island."

Needles trip, shanklin, cowes

By Excursion on 07-Sep-2023

House was even better than we expected../ top grade finishing to fittings. Forgot just how beautiful the island is… and people all so friendly. Short stroll to the beach of soft sand. Felt like was on safari in Kenya hearing the lions roar in the animal sanctuary that was a stones throw away whilst chilling in the garden. Visited the needles , went on chair ride then boat trip. Totally blown away from the visit to the stunning Osborne house, the adored home of our Queen Victoria. The whole island is so unspoilt with greenery everywhere, in land just farmland, animals and vineyards… picturesque towns that whisk you back more than a hundred years with the thatched cottages and old quaint village inns and tearooms. Will be going back very soon… the hosts were super helpful Your response: "Thank you for your lovely review we are so pleased that you had a lovely holiday and enjoyed the house and the Island. We hope to welcome you back some time on any future visit to the Island"
