Description
Last updated in January 2025, the 1st floor modern spacious Lounge has a view of Lake Windermere and is at set up for relaxing away the hours watching the SMART TV or have some fun with the many board games, cards, books and toys for the younger children. There is also a large selection of tourist leaflets to choose from giving you ideas for all the excellent things to do in the area and places to visit. On this floor is also a beautiful Dining Room which comfortably seats up to 6 plus a highchair for the little ones.The house sleeps 6 plus 1 infant (by request) in 3 bedrooms which comprises of a large king size master with a large master bathroom which enjoys a walk in shower and corner bath; another king size guestroom with en-suite shower room and a lovely double guestroom also with an en-suite shower room. There is a travel cot for which you will require your own bedding.
The well equipped kitchen with breakfast bar is a nice sociable space and has many of the gadgets you will find at home making cooking some family meals an easy job. There is a a double oven, ceramic hob, microwave, large fridge/freezer, a slow cooker, a steamer and lots of pots and pans and of course a washing machine and dishwasher. There is also an upstairs cloakroom so there is no need to go downstairs to spend a penny!
There is ample parking for 3 cars and a lovely private, enclosed patio with chairs, table, parasol, BBQ.
We welcome a well behaved dog (no other pet are accepted) but ask they are not left in the house unattended, although we are happy for you to bring a pet crate to use. We do not charge for 1 dog. On occasion we may accept a 2nd dog by permission, there would be additional £40 cleaning fee.
There is a £180 good housekeeping bond applied to invoices which is returnable within 2 days of departure.

By lES on 22-Nov-2024Everything was catered for and we were made to feel welcome by the owner who was on call if we needed anything. Comfortable, clean and warm. We definitely would love to return. Ideally situated for restaurants, bars and shops and only a 10 minute walk to Bowness pier.

By Sandeep on 20-Sep-2024It was clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed. The hosts were fabulous and very accommodating. The location of the property was great, and there was parking for 3 cars, which was a bonus. We would definitely recommend this property to family and friends.
A great property in a great location
By Pram on 12-Jul-2024Easy to walk into Bowness and well placed to drive to any other location in the lakes. The property itself was clean and spacious while the kitchen had everything you would need to cook. Absolutely no complaints and will happily recommend this place to friends and family.
We couldn’t fault our stay at Kempton

It had everything you needed, although we did eat out most days there was everything you would need to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner. The location is absolutely perfect for walking down to Bowness and up to Windermere . We found we didn’t need to use the car as much as everything is on your doorstep. So many bars and restaurants, all of which are dog friendly which is a must for us. We enjoyed our stay so much we’ve already booked the Kempton for next year. Would highly recommend the Kempton. Furnished beautifully, very clean and tidy. Oh and a welcome gift which was much appreciated. Thank you for a lovely stay and looking forward to next year

We did have a problem but it was solved immediately by a phone call with Georgie, fantastic service! The house is very convenient for Bowness, just a short walk for the shops and places to eat which was great as parking during a bank holiday weekend could be difficult. Lots of lovely places to visit in the area, Ambleside, Wray Castle, Tarn Hows and lots more.
