Amazing location right in the centre of Whitby. However so quiet and out of the way of the hustle and bustle. The garden is lovely to sit in. Lots of things to do, loads of restaurant. The bakery at the end of the alleyway is sooooo good! Opens from 8am too. We loved this quaint little gem, just want we needed. Everything on our doorstep. Tip for people visiting in peak season with dogs. The beach on the left isn’t open to dogs but the one on the right is.
All listing reviews Darren''''s review of your place Saltwick Cottage 13–16 Apr 2023 Darren User Profile Overall rating 5 Public review An amazing quaint, quirky and charming little cottage, right in the heart of Whitby but yet tucked away and private. Quick response from Charlotte and everything was as described. Whilst it was too cold to sit out in the garden this is an added bonus and would be lovely to sit out in the warmer months. The parking space is approximately 10-15 minutes walk away from the apartment but the instructions were clear and there is a 45 minute free street parking closer to the apartment to unload your luggage. We would not hesitate in staying again….. altwick Cottage 3–6 Apr 2023 Karl User Profile Overall rating 5 Public review Perfect holiday location set in the historic centre of the town, the property was like a little boutique hotel , so impressed. Charlotte had even set up an Easter egg hunt for the kids. Loved every minute and will be back soon.
This is a quirky little former Fisherman's cottage which could not be located in a more convenient place - down the stairs to a pedestrian road full of non-chain shops, up the back to get to the Abbey really easily. The house is small but well organised and appointed, with an enclosed yard at the back that helped with the dog. You do need to be fully mobile as the steps to the house and in the house are steep, but we had no problems and the main bedroom is level with the bathroom. Cotton bedding and plenty of towels, control over the heating and a log burner. My daughter loved the little extra sitting room in the attic. There were some thoughtful additions for our stay (milk, biccies, coffee for the cafetiere, wine and more) and the communication was excellent, both before, during (the pack in the house) and after the stay. Whitby is great fun to explore too - on foot (the car has to be parked some way away, but Charlotte leaves guidance on that too). Highly recommended with no reservations - and all for a reasonable price! We would absolutely stay there again.
Sarah''s review of your place Saltwick Cottage 16–19 Feb 2023 Sarah User Profile Overall rating 5 Public review A lovely quaint cottage. New renovated and beautifully decorated. Very central to Whitby, but tucked away. We enjoyed our stay very much. The host is quick to respond and very helpful
We loved staying in Saltwick Cottage, great location close to the shops, restaurants and pubs but nicely hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the cobbled streets. Ideal space for 2 adults, 1 teenager and a Cockapoo for a couple of nights getaway. The cottage is nicely furnished and decorated, had everything we needed and more. Very quiet, comfortable and cosy, especially with the wood burner on cool nights. Wished we could have stayed longer.

Thank you Claire for the great review and for leaving the cottage so tidy and clean. I hope you come and stay again when it’s warmer.
