Only a few minutes walk to Smallmouth beach, a sandy cove opposite Portland Harbour and with views overlooking the harbour and the start of Chesil Beach, this cosy 2 bedroomed end of terrace holiday home sits in a quiet and peaceful residential area between Weymouth and Portland in Wyke Regis, built on a site of a former Torpedo Factory.
Anchor Cottage has been decorated and comfortably furnished to a high standard with a new bathroom and kitchen recently installed. It comprises the following:
Ground floor entrance lobby with stairs. Fully equipped kitchen off hallway. Dining area and lounge off hallway, with dining table, Smart TV, 3 seater sofa and armchair with patio doors leading to enclosed garden. The garden is laid with pebbles and plants with a variety of furniture and a raised decked area with views over to Chesil Beach and Isle of Portland. A good sized shed is available for storage of bikes. A charcoal BBQ is available.
Upstairs there is a bedroom with a king sized bed with views over Portland Harbour and a second bedroom with either a ‘zip and link’ superking bed or 2 singles. Both bedrooms have good storage. There is a bathroom with shower over bath and shaving point. Gas central heating, electricity, WiFi and all linen inclusive.
To welcome you we provide some tea, Nespresso coffee, milk and biscuits. There is off road parking for two cars. There is a selection of guidebooks to use during your stay.
The South West Coastal Path is 200 yards away and offers stunning views across the harbour and along the famous Chesil Beach which is a 10 minute walk away. Within 200 yards there is the Rodwell Trail, a 2 mile converted railway track for cycling/walking into Weymouth or to Sandsfoot Castle and Gardens with scenic views. Sailing, windsurfing, sea fishing and diving are all available nearby with the Olympic Sailing Academy situated in the harbour . The harbour, shops, a pub and restaurants/takeaways are within easy walking distance. Good regular bus service nearby. A short drive away is the Jurassic Coast (England’s only natural world heritage site), the fabulous Isle of Portland, Weymouth Sealife Adventure Park, Weymouth’s award-winning sandy beach, Nothe Fort, RSPB reserves, Monkey World, the Tank Museum, and the Purbecks with its wonderful scenery and famous Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. Nearby is Dorchester, the county town of Dorset, with museums and character shops and Abbotsbury, with its Swannery and famous Tropical gardens.
