Island Cottage is a delightful, period fishermans cottage dating back over 250 years to the early 1800's with traditional small rooms and old low inside doors. Just across the road from the waterside and beach as can be seen in the picture. The cottage, with parking and internet/ wifi,has a delightful, sunny, beach-house feel, a comfortable sitting room, dining area, well -equipped kitchen (washing machine, double oven cooker, microwave) and bathroom, all downstairs.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms - a good sized double and a small twin (2 x 2' 6' beds) giving views towards water. The cottage is in a perfect situation just across the road from the beach and swimming, 2 minutes stroll from the village shops and a short stroll along the coast to the waterside restaurants e.g. The Company Shed (renowned as one of the best fresh fish/shellfish places in the UK) and the Oyster Bar and Restaurant.
Also there is a large garden enjoying sunny sitting out area with dining table and chairs for 4. TV with Freeview and Netflix digital channels. Elizabeth said 'We enjoyed a lovely stay at Island Cottage. It was beautifully clean and tidy on our arrival. The cottage is ideally located. Walking distance to the village and just a stones throw from the beach! My children particularly enjoyed the large garden. We will definitely book again.'

Local shops, delis and pubs are very near by – just a few minutes stroll. Also super restaurants are within a short walk including The famous Company Shed, Coast Inn and The Art Cafe even an Indian and Chinese!. If you want to travel off this peaceful island you are near to Constable Country (Dedham, Flatford Mill), Wivenhoe (lovely riverside location), Mistley, Malden, Colchester and lots of delightful villages in the countryside. Colchester Castle and major shopping is just 9 miles away. Don't forget to book The Company Shed for fish lunch before arrival as it gets booked up months ahead.
