The cottage is large, beautiful and incredibly well equipped. The host is very friendly! One of the best places we stayed!
We had the most wonderful stay at Wendy’s place! The house was beautiful and absolutely spotless. It was fully equipped for all of our needs. The kitchen was full of utensils and equipment, there were towels on each bed and a basket of wood with instructions for the fire. It felt like a home away from home and we would definitely come again! Wendy was on hand during our stay to answer any questions, she was super responsive and had great knowledge of the surrounding area- with hints and tips for us. The local pub was seconds away and was so cosy and welcoming, and the surrounding towns/villages are lovely. We visited Instow and had the best seafood!! Overall we could not have asked for a better place to stay or host in Wendy, and we will be visiting in the summer to enjoy the wonderful garden with BBQ area :)
We (2 adults and a toddler) really enjoyed our NYE at Wendy’s. The property is gorgeous, really well laid out and loads of space. Bedrooms were cosy and comfy, bathrooms modern and kitchen a great socialising size. It was really great relaxing watching a film by the log burner. It’s a great location for North Devon, close to great beaches, towns and walks. Wendy went out of her way to make sure the house was set up specifically for us, which was appreciated. Staying here was a bit of a luxury for us but we’d definitely come back here in the future if we can!
I wandered around the house on arrival, smiling- met with delight after delight. The house firstly is in an exquisite location - Weare Giffard has the typical beauty that one only finds in Devon. On the side of a country road, up the hill, around the corner from a quaint pub. You walk into a generous hallway, through the hallway and into a warm, welcoming kitchen, fresh garden roses on the wooden table, a welcome basket with all sorts of ‘goodies on the sideboard. I only have 1000 words so I can’t give you the room-by-room description but suffice to say, Wendy has thought of ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING that one could need, for all ages. The kitchen had EVERYTHING! We made use of the games in the games room, the TV room, the wood burning stove. Two people had forgotten toothbrushes and hey presto there were spares in the cupboard. The house felt lovingly cared for and was decorated tastefully. The bedding and towels were quality. Cushions and blankets. Logs and kindling. Simply FAB. Fiona
Beautiful house, pleasant and helpful hosts. Had a lovely time.
Another fabulous week here at Weare Cottage! Everything we need is right here and perfectly clean as always. First time having a meal at the Cyder Presse pub- a very lovely meal. The Flame Factory at Appledore, wonderful pizzas as always. Looking forward to visiting again next year!
