The Old Vicarage was acquired by the Powell family some 50 years back and has recently gone through a top to toe renovation for its new life as a holiday let ready to welcome you all!
This large, beautiful, former vicarage is situated in four acres of garden, an orchard, and a paddock with a recent addition of a hot tub and a sauna.

Located in Vowchurch and a short hop to the pubs, shop and bistro of Peterchurch, it is a short drive from the historic book town of Hay-on-Wye (famed for its annual literary festival), Hereford and the historic Mappa Mundi and unlimited walking in the Black mountains and Brecon Beacons.
Recently refurbished to combine classic Victorian features with the best of contemporary style, it is ideal for large families or groups of friends looking for something a bit special to use as a base in this fascinating part of the country.
A beautiful modern kitchen opens out onto a spacious dining area with generous space for 12 around the table and a wood burner for cosy evenings in.
Patio doors lead directly onto a large paved area in which you can use the top of the range charcoal barbecue (BBQ).
The sitting room has an open fire along with the latest smart TV and extras.
The six spacious and stylish bedrooms have space for 12 people (14 at a squeeze).

The sauna has recently been delivered and assembled and is up and running.

Leave ReviewA wonderful venue for a very special birthday get together
By Mark Y on 30-Jan-2024A very welly furnished house with comfortable beds and 4 bathrooms. The house is ideal for a party of friends get together as it stands well away from other properties and has everything you could need including 2 dishwashers, 3 fridges, 2 log burners and every cooking utensil you could ever want. The stove took a bit of mastering but was soon conquered!. The hot tub, sauna, table tennis table and table football were well used even though it was a cold January visit too. All the table decorations shown were brought in by us for a 'milestone' birthday celebration and we had a caterer in (Christine's Catering 01432 352152) did a fabulous job of providing a delicious meal and washed up afterwards!. We can highly reccomend The Old Vicarage - we had a marvellous time!
Great accommodation
By Sally P on 15-Nov-2023Excellent accommodation for a large group. Extremely well equipped (2 dishwashers!) and lovely facilities. Great people to bathroom ratio. Loved the table football, sauna, hot tub and table tennis table. Lots to do even on a winter’s weekend. Would love to return in summer to make the most of the garden.
Family Holiday

Great Holoiday Home

Nine of us had a great week, playing table tennis, table football, garden and indoor games then relaxing in the hot tub and sauna - and we are all over seventy!
Amazing House

Wonderful winter escape
By carla w on 18-Feb-2022We had a wonderful time at the old vicarage. My friends and I decided on a girls weekend there to celebrate being able to get together again after two years of restrictions. The beautiful views and walks are just some of the many reasons to visit Herefordshire. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and in the evenings the house is extremely cosy especially when lighting the fire and playing board games. I can highly recommend visiting the red lion pub and the Pandy Inn Both of which are extremely welcoming. We look forward to returning in the future. Thank you Elwyn.
