The country style kitchen is lovely, bright and airy, extremely well equipped with all the modern appliances, including washing machine, fridge freezer, dishwasher, cooker, coffee espresso, toaster etc. Sits 6 comfortably around the table. French doors take you outside to the terrace with the BBQ. It has a large pergola with a gorgeous climbing campsis covering it for shade and is great for Alfresco dining!
Inside the large living area there are 2 sofas and 2 armchairs, TV with English channels, Dvd player a large selection of Dvd's, books and games. Beautiful and peaceful, most relaxing holiday ever!

By Claire, Justin & Daisy on 27-Jul-2024

We had a wonderful 2 weeks at Le Chataignier, the weather was glorious the whole time. The house had everything you needed, the kitchen was super well equipped, plenty of books to read, games to play and a pile of DVDs to watch if you wanted to, we didn't as we far preferred to be sat outside watching the bats or the stars in the evening with a glass of wine. we enjoyed the private pool as well as the boules. So much to do in the area all within about an hours drive. Beynac Chateau a must as well as the little boat trip. Domme was beautiful and the caves a must visit. My husband and daughter visited Padirac caves which were spectacular and about 1 hour 40 mins away. Don't miss a visit to Monpazier, a truly stunning little town. Villefranche du Perigord was gorgeous and had everything you needed for supplies or eating out. Tracy is the most incredible host and you can tell she has been doing this for a long time, she could not have been more friendly and helpful. Whist Tracy and her family lived nearby, you would only see them if you needed them. Last but not least, Lexi and Tyler the most friendliest and loveliest dogs, we enjoyed our daily visit from them in the evening. A truly wonderful holiday in a beautiful part of France.

Best gites

By Pat and David Senior on 29-Jun-2024

A lovely well equipped comfortable and beautiful holiday home set in immaculate grounds very well maintained by the discreet friendly and helpful owners. Our third holiday here, and we’re already thinking of dates for next year.

It is always a pleasure to have you both here! And I look forward to seeing you again, hopefully next year! Best wishes, Tracy

Beautiful ,peaceful location

By Elaine and family on 04-Jun-2024

Stayed at the beautiful gite for 10 days. The location is perfect, we really felt like we were in the countryside. Only noise was the birdsong and the occasional vist from Tracy's two wonderful little dogs. The accommodation is very well equipped with everything you could want for cooking and eating outdoors. Inside was spotless and very cool during the hot days we had. Pool area is great, a real suntrap but with the added bonus of the shelter if it gets too warm. We came without a car and just walked into the village every day. Very quiet but everything you need, two supermarkets, two bakeries and a butcher. Saturday morning Market visit was lovely, lots of veg, cheese and olives! Would definitely return, thank you Tracy.

A perfect stay

By Emily O'Shea on 29-Jul-2023

We couldn't have asked for better! The barn was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. The beds and sofas were good. The kitchen had everything you could need. The drinks and snacks on arrival were a lovely touch. The garden was completely beautiful, with amazing flowers and pretty fairy lights in the evening, and there were outdoor spaces for eating, reading and sitting. The pool was clean, well-maintained and private. The whole accommodation seemed very private and we didn't feel overlooked or encroached on by anyone. Tracy was so friendly and helpful and easy to deal with. We didn't see much of the owners, but felt that if we needed anything they would be available and happy to help. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Thank you Emily for your kind comments. I am super happy you all enjoyed your stay in Le Chataignier. Best wishes, Tracy

Peace and tranquility and great for kids!!

By Gillian on 20-Sep-2020

If you want to lower your blood pressure, then I suggest you book these Gites! The gites are immaculate and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The owner Tracy greeted us upon arrival and was warm and welcoming, always to hand with a smile and nothing was a problem. The gardens were so peaceful that all you could hear were the birds singing. The village is around a 20 minute walk and is full of character with small shops with friendly staff. Will definately be going back
