Description

The 13th century Sloping Roof Mill with its marvelous Salt Water Solar Heated Pool is a charming home for maximally 4 persons. Historically interesting and mentioned in the Times Online as one of the most unusual holiday homes in Europe. ''Sit outside to watch the sunset and enjoy the aroma of mint and lavender".

In the small French village of Montlaur (Val de Dagne) and set in beautiful grounds, with olive trees, cypresses and pins parasols and a gorgeous heated pool (solar heating). Often to Air temperature! It is filled from our Spring giving you a very delicious special Balneo therapy like experience. Tables, chairs and parasols in the garden around the pool for eating out. Lying on the sunbeds by the fabulous pool surrounded by olive trees, you are in the middle of nature in the Domain of La Couscouillette.

The 2 little Mills share the pool, and grounds. Some guests book both.

Spectacular views! Our own little vineyard. Field for ball games. Football goals and basket ball, tennis net (you can borrow tennis rackets.)

The Sloping Mill (1280) itself has two levels, all open plan apart from the bathroom.

Ground floor: living/cooking, sofa double bed. Very comfortable and in daytime a luxurious sofal. Top floor: two single beds and bathroom.

Languedoc 'garrigue' all around the domaine for nature walks. Overlooking the small Languedoc village of Montlaur.

Cathar Castles nearby and Carcassonne at 20 minutes drive. The famous Cité is there as well as exciting Water Games at Lac de la Cavaere.

Easy access with the Airport at Carcassonne, Ryan Air Flights all over Europe .

Mediterranean beaches at 45 minutes drive.

Bistro in the village of Montlaur at 8 mins walk https://vinsdedagne.fr/carte-restaurant, also a small supermarket and pharmacy.

In July and August from Saturday to Saturday.

An extra €15 per person for linen and towels is obligatory.

Unforgettable vacation in an extraordinary accommodation in a very special time.

Despite Covid 19, we were able to spend a very relaxed holiday here. It was possible to forget all worries for two weeks. The historical sights, medieval cities and daily relaxation in the great pool as well as Margaret and Ellen, who were always there for us, will remain in our memory for a long time. After a long search on the internet we came across Moulin de la Couscouillette. At the beginning we were a little hesitant because we had never booked online before. Today I just say thank you!!!!! Of dream holiday apartments :) It was our most beautiful and pleasant holiday we have had so far. The mill is a dream, great location, beautifully and tastefully furnished, PURE ambience. Beautiful setting, impeccable furnishings, very well-kept facilities, great pool almost all to yourself, very friendly service, away from all the tourist crowds and still within easy walking distance of many sights, markets and everything else that goes with the midi de la France.
