Holiday accommodation on a working farm near Lake Coniston
Birchbank is a Lakeland farm on the fells between Coniston Water and the Duddon Estuary. You can enjoy some marvellous views of Coniston Old Man and the Furness fells or the Duddon Estuary from the many bridleways and footpaths which cross the farm and surrounding fell with only the sheep and birds for company.

Our holiday accommodation comprises a self catering holiday cottage with 2 bedrooms, living room, dining/kitchen and bathroom and parking for two cars.

The area is ideal for walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers and the Cumbria Way long distance footpath from Ulverston to Carlisle is only half a mile away. Cycle storage is available at the cottage and there are many bridleways and tracks to cycle on near Birchbank. we are only ¼ mile from the Lakes and Dales Loop, a long distance cycle route, www.lakesdalesloop.co.uk.


Birchbank Holiday Cottage is semi detached to a Lakeland farmhouse with an unenclosed hard area with flower tubs and seats at the front. The cottage provides self catering accommodation for up to 4 people plus a cot for a baby and is superbly located in the Southern Lakes with easy access to the central and western Lakes . Dogs are accepted at a charge of £15 per week but they must not be left unattended in the cottage and must be kept on a lead when out walking because of the sheep.

On the first floor there is a double bedroom with a washbasin and a view over the fells and a twin bedroom, both have panel heaters.

The bathroom is downstairs and has a shower over the bath, toilet, a washbasin with a heated towel rail and underfloor heating. We have spring water which treated with an ultra violet light and is tested regularly.

The lounge kitchen/dining area is well furnished and includes a TV, DVD player, dishwasher and microwave. Heating is with electric storage heater, panel heaters and an electric woodburning effect stove.

There are drying facilities for outdoor clothes in the cottage and there is a laundry room with a washing machine and a tumble dryer.

A cot, highchair and stairgate are available for the little ones, bedlinen and towels are provided but please bring linen for the cot.

There is parking for two cars and cycle storage is available.
