Located at The Valley in Carnon Downs, The Croft is a stunning cottage with an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area with doors leading to a patio on each side; two ground floor bedrooms, one double with 6' emperor size bed and en-suite shower room and one twin with family bathroom beside.There are award-winning dog friendly and pet-free cottages available.
Each cottage is equipped for a 5* Gold stay, with all amenities you could wish for on a breezy self-catering holiday. It will feel like stepping into a home-from-home in the Cornish countryside.
The entire upper floor forms a breath taking octagonal bedroom with 6' emperor size bed and en-suite shower room.
At The Valley there is also an indoor pool, squash court, tennis court, kids play area, pixie walk through the woodlands and a games room that are open all year round, PLUS an outdoor heated swimming pool and a dog-friendly restaurant that are open seasonally!
During peak school holidays, the resort also arranges fantastic on site complimentary activities for guests of all ages, including special visits from Mark's Ark and his animal kingdom, archery lessons, yoga lessons and Easter egg hunts and more, meaning this makes a fantastic value stay.
There are also a range of other two and 3 bedroom cottages in this peaceful wooded valley, which you can see by going onto the website!
For dog owners, there are fantastic facilities on site including peaceful woodlands and a secure doggy field to let them off their leads. There are outdoor shower facilities, and each dog receives a special gift box of treats and a personalised collar tag on arrival.
The site is 10 minutes from bustling Truro, 20 minutes to the beautiful seaside town of Falmouth, and is 10-15 minutes drive within both North and South coast- an explorers dream location. The closest dog friendly beach is a 10 minute drive.

By RamberRuss on 01-Jan-2025antastically located near the south coast and on the disused trainline there are so many activities and places near by. The onsite indoor and outdoor pools, food, games, sports and bar are more than you would have hoped for. The accommodation is spacious, well built, well designed and it definitely has a 5 star feel. The gardens are so typical of Cornwall and very well maintained. We go most years and we have a different but familiar experience every time. Such an easy holiday.
Peaceful and comfortable
By Susan S on 01-Oct-2024The cottage was beautifully furnished with comfort in mind. The beds very comfortable. The kitchen was spacious, superbly and generously equipped with everything you would need including V&B China. It really was ‘home from home’ and did not have the feel of a ‘holiday’ cottage. The setting is peaceful and a lovely base to explore Cornwall. Absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing stay. The staff are excellent, very attentive but not intrusive.
Lovely second stay
By Sally T on 01-Sep-20242nd time at The Valley and it did not disappoint! We came for the first time in 2021 and then returned at the start of September! This time we start in one of their Croft cottages, which had a brand new kitchen in with lovely american Fridge freezer! Was a great upgrade from the last time we stayed, and while we didn't think it could've got any better than last time this made it better! Last time we came was in COVID and they had to had the individual pool slots, we are so glad they have kept this as our kids are quite shy and wouldn't be able to enjoy it as much when lots of other people are there We were also delighted they sorted the restaurant out! Last time in COVID it was barely open, however this time it was open lots more and the food was great! We'll be back again but hopefully won't leave it as long this time!
Fantastic place to stay
By vicscilly on 21-Feb-2020My husband and our two boys stayed at the valley for five nights . We have a fantastic time here . The cottage we stayed in was just wonderful, it had everything we could possibly need . The beds are amazing we slept like logs . So clean and tidy . Excellent staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. Excellent base for exploring Cornwall . We will definitely be returning.
a great place
By Gordon T on 31-Jan-2020Friendly, great location, super friendly and helpful staff. We just love it and have already been three times in recent with various grown up family members (and dog). Truro and coastal walks are both great.
