Description

Located on a quiet edge of Tonbridge town, this charming 1-bedroom cottage is set within a picturesque wild garden.

On arrival, you’ll be warmly greeted by your host Bev, could be John at times, who'll show you round and get you settled in for your stay. You'll find our welcome pack of home-made bread and cake, along with the essentials of milk, butter and eggs to get you started.

The town of Tonbridge is a 5-10 minute drive, or a brisk 30 minute walk. There are more local shops a 3 minute drive away too. Tonbridge Station enables a trip into London Bridge within 35 minutes. Of course, Kent has many National Trust and English Heritage sites, with an array of gardens to see too.

Kath’s Cottage really is the home from a home getaway for those seeking the charms of Kent. After a day’s exploring the attractions you’ll return to the simple and quiet delights of Kath’s Cottage.

Many of our regular guests use Kath's Cottage to visit family and friends also, seems to work well!

A warm welcome is always guaranteed. Look forward to seeing you!

Excellent cottage and hosts

By Sharon and Richard on 15-Mar-2025

Kath's is a charming cottage - excellent accommodation , cosy , very clean and well equipped with great attention to detail. It's an excellent location for visiting NT properties and exploring Kent. Greeted on arrival there was also a very generous welcome hamper including superb home made goodies. Bev and John were excellent hosts from their initial prompt enquiry responses to their warm welcome and friendly, helpful manner. We would certainly recommend the property and hosts. We would love to return.

Perfect

By Nick S on 08-Nov-2024

We recently had a short break at this delightful cottage. The accommodation is superb and has a great ‘home from home feel’. The cottage is in a very quiet location, but is perfectly situated for exploring Kent or taking the train into London. The welcome pack of groceries including delicious homemade goodies was a real treat. Bev and John are lovely, friendly and welcoming hosts. A real find, we will definitely return.

Outstanding stay

By Aditi and Ashok Mehta on 10-Sep-2024

We have no words to describe our stay: it was just too fabulous. The loving generosity of the John and Beverley did not extend only to a hamper of goodies but ferrying us to the station and back multiple times, accompanying us on walks, teaching us about English mores in conversation and even replacing the entire shower unit that was a bit temperamental. Ashok got a birthday present ahead of the day and we returned to India laden with gifts. The cottage itself was warm, snug and extremely comfortable - and incredibly clean. John and Beverley have given us something more than just a great stay in Kent: they have reinforced our faith in human beings in a world that is selfish and often unkind. We've made friends for life and will definitely return, God willing.

Great time.

This was my second visit to Kath Cottage, at a warmer time of the year. The standard was at the same high level. Bev kindly replaced some of the food I had left behind, plus a few extras. I was able to explore the countryside, going for long walks, past where the apple pickers were starting work on the harvest. I hope to return soon.

That feel-good factor!

By Janet Morris on 22-Aug-2024

The vibes are really good at Kath's Cottage. Your hosts, Bev and John, really care and it shows in the way they present their cottage. If your standards are high, you won't be disappointed. The 'Welcome Pack' is outstanding, especially if you like delicious home baking. The location is excellent; close to town, but with countryside literally on your doorstep. The peaceful cottage garden is viewed from the dual aspect kitchen windows which catch the morning sunlight. Finds like this don't come along often. A real gem. I hope I get the chance to return.

A come again place.

By Anne & David on 03-Aug-2024

We have stayed in many places around the uk, this by far is the best. John and Bev have been great hosts with a well stocked larder on our arrival including homemade bread and cake plus a bottle of wine. Two weeks of glorious sunshine, a good pub just down the road and many places of interest not too far away to visit.
