Overview
Description
Please check my website for current best prices! This character end of terrace cottage was built in the 1860's. Tastefully decorated and furnished, it provides light and bright accommodation.
There's a comfortable living room where you'll find guide books and local maps and a very well equipped kitchen with a small dining table. Upstairs there are 2 well proportioned bedrooms with plenty of storage. The main bedroom has a double bed whilst the second bedroom has a single bed.
The bathroom is on the ground floor so may not be suitable for people with mobility issues.
A key feature of the cottage is the lovely garden where you can sit out with your morning coffee, admiring the flowers and listening to the stream, which runs close by!
The cottage benefits from a prime location just moments from Steyning’s historic High Street. The small town offers a wealth of independent shops, cafes, and amenities. There are several places where you can eat out in the evening along with two recently opened wine bars - all within a 10 minute walk!
Steyning is a fascinating place to visit with many medieval buildings, an excellent local museum and a Norman Church.
There is excellent access to the South Downs for walking, with footpaths within a stone's throw from the cottage. You'll find books and leaflets with suggested routes - there's also a walking pole that you can use.
The nearest beach is 6 miles away at Shoreham by Sea - a 20 minute bus ride or short drive. Brighton is 12 miles from the cottage and can be reached by public transport.
Other local attractions include some incredible Sussex Gardens: Highdown, Sussex Prairie Gardens, Parham, Borde Hill, Nyman's, Arundel Castle Gardens, Denman's and West Dean.
Interested in history? Visit medieval St Mary's House (a mile away in Bramber), Arundel Castle, Petworth House, The Weald and Downland Open Air Museum, Bignor Roman Villa and Chichester Roman Palace.
Enjoy nature? Bs sure to go the rewilding project on the Knepp Estate - a 15 minute drive! You could also spend time at nearby Woods Mill Nature Reserve, RSPB Pulborough Brooks or Arundel Wildfowl and Wetland Centre.

Immaculately Presented
By Ed on 03-Mar-2025Our second time staying at Jenny's cottage which is immaculately presented and has everything you could want for a cosy stay! On both occasions we were able to park right outside the cottage which was super convenient. We're also big fans of the local Italian restaurant Mamma Mia, as well as the record store Slipped Discs!
Absolutely Lovely
By Sally on 23-Feb-2025Jenny's cottage is absolutely lovely; super comfy and warm, really close to the high street but not noisy, really really well equipped; Jenny has thought of absolutely everything you could need. Jenny gave us lots of information about the cottage and the local area before arriving, she was also very quick to reply to our messages when we sent a question before or during our stay. There is lots of reading material and maps of and about Steyning and the surrounding area. I would highly recommend Jenny's cottage; even if you have young children as we do.
A Lovely Cottage
By Susie on 30-Dec-2024Rosebud Cottage is a lovely cottage, and it was perfect for our stay over the Christmas period. Jenny is a most helpful host. If I need to stay in the area again, Rosebud Cottage will be first on my list.
