This property is simply exceptional! The facilities provided are first class and the location is perfect. Not to mention the use of a private car parking space, which in St Ives is a luxury! David and Michelle the owners/hosts are very friendly and extremely accommodating and helpful. All this is demonstrated not only by thoughtful little gestures like welcoming messages and gifts, but also by other things that make a big difference to your holiday. For example - our party of six drove overnight from Yorkshire to St Ives and arrived at breakfast time on Saturday morning knowing, as per the t’s & c’s, we wouldn’t be able to access the property until 4pm on Saturday afternoon. However, totally unprompted, the owners contacted me to say the cottage had been prepared early and we were welcome to make use of it, along with the parking space, as soon as we needed it. When you’ve travelled a long distance through the night, especially with young children, this was a godsend and very much appreciated. I firmly believe you can only receive this kind of personal attention by dealing directly with the property owners. Our family have been holidaying in St Ives for over 40 years and we’re now bringing our grandchildren and over the years we’ve stayed occasionally in hotels but mainly in rented cottages and I can honestly say taking everything into consideration this cottage is the best we’ve stayed in. This was our third consecutive visit to Halfway Cottage and we’ve already booked for next year. I thoroughly recommend this cottage! Thank you David and Michelle.
