Description

Fort Cottage 1, an 18th century fisherman’s cottage situated in possibly the best location in Pembrokeshire.
The cottages are situated in their own grounds with substantial terraced gardens overlooking Solva harbour, St Brides Bay and the unspoilt headlands of the Pembrokeshire National Park. The coastal footpath passes right outside the front gate.
The historic fishing village of Solva with its busy quay and charming high street with cafes, craft shops and art galleries is only a few minutes walk away.
The city of St Davids with its historic Cathedral and Bishop’s Palace is 3 miles away.
For those who want to venture further afield there are many beaches and coves to explore either a short drive or walk away. Whether you want a relaxed holiday or an adrenaline filled holiday surfing and coasteering the location is perfect.
The cottage contains all the character and charm you’d expect to find in a cottage of this age. Please be aware of the low ceilings and beams as well as the steep staircase, which may not be suitable for some guests or young children.
All the main rooms have fantastic sea views across the harbour and St Brides Bay.
An entrance hall leads to the kitchen and to the sitting room which has a conservatory with dining and seating area. The bathroom (with bath/shower) is also located on the ground floor.
The two bedrooms are located on the first floor. One has a double bed and the other twin beds.As there is no landing one bedroom leads to the other. Duvets and pillows are provided, but linen (sheets, duvet covers, towels, tea towels etc) is not provided.
There is a laundry/utility room at the back of Fort Cottage 2 for the use of both cottages.
The drive down to the cottages is an unmade, narrow, private road with a sharp bend. This should only be attempted by experienced drivers and in daylight. Alternative parking is available within 3 minutes walk of the cottage if preferred. A torch is advisable when walking back after a night out.
The cottages have full central heating.
Please enquire about our pet policy.
