Description
Winter short breaks and weeks now available. Sorry short breaks of less than 4 days are not available at any time. Discounts available. Please message for details.Southwinds is a detached bungalow in an enviable position in Upper Solva, with uninterrupted sea views over St. Brides Bay. Tucked away along a footpath it is in a quiet position but within walking distance of the beach, local pubs and restaurants. An idea place to relax and as a base for exploring the Pembrokeshire National Park and surrounding area.
The open plan lounge/diner has a bright conservatory with views to the sea. The open fire is lovely for those cosy winter evenings. An easy walk takes you to the Pembrokeshire coastal path - which runs for 186 miles from Amroth to St Dogmaels.
There are 2 bedrooms, the kingsize with it's picture window and view over the harbour, great for a long lie in and enjoy the view.
The pleasant twin has a garden view. There is a good sized garden and patio where you can relax with a coffee or glass of wine and let the world go by. Being close to the beach and Solva harbour it's makes a great base for a family holiday too. There is an unfenced drop from the patio to the path so care is needed here. It's a great place for dog walking and we welcome dogs, but be aware that the garden is not dog secure.
There is no allocated parking. The unloading area is at the end of the lane and you can park near the green if space or roadside around the corner. For further details please contact me. Thanks

Leave ReviewAmazing location with fantastic views
By on 20-Sep-2018Lovely cottage with incredible views over the Solva coastline and a short walk from the harbour, pubs and restaurants. We've just had an amazing, relaxing week at Southwinds and would definitely recommend this as a place to stay if you're visiting Solva. Christine was really helpful and friendly and did everything to make our stay special. The view from the breakfast table on a sunny morning is quite spectacular, and who needs a tv when outdoors looks like that? The kids loved the walk down the path to the harbour, and running around the gardens. The rooms and beds were all really comfortable and the new kitchen is great. The only reason we didn't give the cottage a 5 is because we thought it could have been a bit cleaner. It certainly wasn't dirty and maybe it was because it was the end of the season, but it felt (kitchen apart) like it needed a proper clean. Would definitely recommend this place though, good value for money and a fantastic holiday all round - thank you!
Stunning views
By on 07-Aug-2018This is a lovely return visit to Southwinds for us. The views from the conservatory really are stunning. The little terraced area is a suntrap but whatever the weather the view can't be beaten. Southwinds is right on the coastal path. The local shop is a short stroll away it is surprisingly very well stocked and has lots of fresh fruit and veg. Solva is a very special part of Pembrokeshire. A small negative, parking is at a premium and can be tricky at times.
Perfect
By on 11-Jul-2018We stayed for a week . The weather was fair but whatever the weather the accomodation is comfortable , well supplied with games and books if needed. The kitchen is extremely well equiped with high quality fitments and utensils. Of course when it is fine weather the view is magnificent !! There are many lovely walks and if taxis are required the drivers ( local one ) are most helpful Wonderful food at the Cambrian Inn
Beautiful
By on 08-Feb-2018We are regular visitors to Solva in the off season and this is the first time we have stayed at Southwinds... what a lovely place it is! We don’t want to say too much as we would like to keep it a secret. We will be booking our return here shortly. Thank You, Mark & Claire.
Lovely holiday cottage in a great location with amazing views.
By on 10-Aug-2016We had a fantastic week in this great holiday cottage in upper Solva. The views are incredible from the conservatory and the walk down into Solva along coastal paths was so enjoyable. Catching crabs on the quayside at Solva and horse riding on Druidstone haven beach were highlights. As was just sitting looking at the view from the cottage!
Great View
By on 22-Jul-2015My wife and I stayed in Southwinds for a week in early July and had a really good time. The property was adequately equipped and everything worked. No problem watching Wimbledon on the large TV on the day in rained all day. Conveniently located for St Davids and a short walk into the centre of Solva. The view out of St Bride's Bay is spectacular. It made a good base for walking the coastal path.
