Description
Windmill Barn was converted in 2002 and is a traditional Cornish granite barn on a quiet country lane in an unspoilt rural hamlet. Just 3 miles from either the surfing beach at Sennen Cove or the more sheltered sandy bay at Porthcurno next to the Minack Theatre. There is an enclosed south facing garden with lawn, ample parking, barbecue, picnic table, rotary clothes dryer, palm trees, exotic plants and extensive views over the countryside towards Lands End. The double bedroom (with kingsize bed), twin bedroom and bunk bedroom (with full size bunk beds) are all on the ground floor, along with the bathroom (with toilet and bath with shower over) and additional separate toilet. The spacious kitchen includes a large dining table with 6 dining chairs, and a dishwasher. A wooden staircase leads to the upstairs living room, which is also reached via the external granite steps. There is comfortable seating for 6, a 32"" colour TV, a DVD player and a selection of books. There is currently no WiFi but mobile phone reception is good.
Just 2 miles from Lands End, the property is ideally situated for exploring both the dramatic and rugged north coast with its Atlantic rollers and fascinating mining heritage, as well as the contrasting picturesque coves on the south coast such as Lamorna and nearby Porthgwarra which featured in the recent BBC TV series Poldark. With two coasts to choose from, walkers can enjoy exploring a long stretch of the South West coast path. For those wanting to explore by car the resorts of Mousehole, Penzance and St Ives are all a short drive away.
For those wishing to bring a young family a travel cot and high chair are available on request. There is a safety gate at the top of the stairs.
Well behaved dogs are welcome (up to 2) by agreement with the owners and at no additional cost. The garden is enclosed by gates and a stone wall. There are dog bowls for your pet to use.
The bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen are all on the ground floor, but we would not recommend this property for the disabled as the main living area is upstairs. Care should be taken when using the wooden staircase from the kitchen to the living area as it can be slippery in the wrong footwear.
We .operate a SUNDAY CHANGEOVER.
