A fantastic family home in a beautiful part of France

By Beth on 24-Aug-2024

Could not rate this beautiful house highly enough. From the point of booking Carol and Colin shared some fantastic local knowledge with us of things to do in the area. On arrival it was very easy to find the key and get settled in. Having stayed in numerous houses in France and the UK i can honestly stay i've never stayed anywhere with such a well equipped kitchen. It had everything we needed to be able to cook a big family meal every night, which i was very grateful for! Not that we cooked every night. We can highly recommend The Pelican Hotel in the nearby village where we had lunch, as a must visit. The village was very easy to get to, and it was fun to walk, or use one of the bikes at the house to go and pick up bread and pastries each morning. We also took advantage of a local kayak company to take our kids for a river adventure and had a lovely day out in Saumur which is only 20 minutes away. The few questions we had about locks and recycling, Colin and Carol came back to us very quickly on by text and could not have been more helpful. My kids spent a large part of the week in the swimming pool, but also very much embraced the ping pong and football tables. All in all the perfect spot for a family holiday.

Great holiday at a lovely house in a beautiful area.

A very comfortable and well laid out property with everything you could need. The garden and pool were superb and we enjoyed lots of alfresco dining. We made good use of the pool as the weather was so warm! We found plenty to do without travelling far. Visited Saumur several times, plus a few places along the river. Also visited Angers which is lovely.

FAB PROPERTY, CLEAN, WELL EQUIPPED, SUPERB LOCATION, DIDN'T WANT FOR ANYTHING - JUNE 24

By MR & MRS B, SUFFOLK, ENGLAND on 13-Jun-2024

We had an amazing stay here in this gorgeous, clean, well maintained, well equipped and superbly located property, it was indeed a home from home with lovely spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. We have stayed in many places in France and this is our favourite property to date, from the moment we walked in we knew we would have a great stay and indeed we did. Have to say a well done to Carol & Colin, your information provided and website both outstanding and particular thumbs up to having a floor plan on show, great idea. No hidden surprises here as we have found in previous rentals (not all good surprises either) this time what was advertised was what we got and it was all just great. Both the garden and pool were lovely and the bikes looked in excellent condition but we didn't get round to trying them on this occasion. Whilst we were there the weather wasn't the best but we didn't let it spoil our holiday as we enjoyed exploring the Loire Valley on our first visit there. We loved the chateau in Saumur and the Le Terrier restaurant next to it with stunning views, Chinon was very nice as was Saumur itself. Everyone was so friendly, we got chatting to lots of people and were advised which places were good to visit etc. Would we return, yes indeed we would, no hesitation. Thank you Carol and Colin.

A little slice of heaven

By Cathy Monteith on 02-Sep-2023

We stayed in LHFH for 3 weeks in September. The party included our 2 young kids, my husband and my parents. This self catering property has been renovated beautifully and was clean on arrival. It is a remote and peaceful setting which suited us perfectly and having some French was very useful in this rural area of France. The outdoor space was well kept and the pool was a strong feature in our visit. The house is set back from a main road but there was minimal noise disturbance from the road and the garden was fully enclosed ensuring our kids were safe when playing in the garden. Carol and Colin have thought of everything to ensure their guests enjoy their stay

Lovely holiday

We had a lovely holiday. The house is very clean and well equipped with everything needed. The owners are very thoughtful and easy to communicate with, we had no problems at all. The location of the house is good, with lots to see and do. The pool was great and we loved the garden.

Idyllic holiday home in the Loire

By Donna Tye on 12-Aug-2023

This holiday let is amazing! It was spotlessly clean, had comfortable beds, an extremely well equipped kitchen and is in a fantastic location. The private pool is the cherry on top of this beautiful home from home. It ticks all the boxes for a relaxing holiday but with lots of activities nearby including museums, zoos, kayaking and shopping. We would definitely recommend a holiday here.
